It's absolutely VITAL that we stay in the Championship because a huge new TV deal kicks in next season, with BBC televising games as well as Sky.
We simply can't afford not to be in it. And if we do go down it'll be harder than ever to get back.

How do you know that ? I thought we owed Cryne all the money he has put in? It was supposed to be a loan , I am certain that was what he said. Has he written that off? If so he is better than I thought. If not , then we are in debt to him.
I know as much as you however I think our debt is probably manageable in the same way that my own debts (mortgage etc) are. I believe the debt to be a couple of million or so, not massive by any stretch of the imagination given our annual turnover. Likely to be in the realms of the money we earned from the cup run last year for instance. Whether Mr Cryne calls in the debt or the directors are paying it off / intend to pay it off is anybodies guess.
RE: I know as much as you Spartacus. The football club as a company owes Patrick Cryne a lot more money than that. Your assertion that it is like a mortgage is also incorrect. If Patrick wanted to call the loan in tommorow he could do, unlike mortgage arrangments. However it would be pointless Patrick doing this as the club simply does not have the money and Parick wants the club to do well and succeed. But please be aware the club is totally reliant on Patrick, if he wanted his money back tommorow it would be the end for the club. As far as I can see the only assets the club has are players and their value comes no where near to covering the debt. All Barnsley supporters owe Cryney a massive debt of gratitude.
I have admit nudger you are extremely confident about SD and PC which is fair play nothing wrong with feeling optimistic but what if everything goes tits up this year what willl you be spouting then? Conotyke has every right to question the amount of money the club spend on a player considering what happen with us going to admin. It has left a few fans still concerned about our financial status and you have to remember that this is one of the largest fees the club has paid out in a long time I can only think of Ward as a bigger transfer fee so you will always get fans asking these sort of questions because they are concerned for the club! I think the signing is a great one and if the club can justify spending this amount of money then great lets just hope it does not backfire on us like it has in the past!
and those two were in the prem with the TV money. I would hazard a guess that the FA cup money and PC has funded this deal then
Exactly and it is Cryne, as acting Chairman, that has agreed to pay out 1.2 million so I'm not worried that he'll suddenly ask for his money back. What he has done for BFC is fantastic and his ideas for the future seem great to so lets all be optomistic for a change yeah!?!
to Patrick maybe.... I don't think that we owe to banks and taxmen and other outsider types.
Patrick won't call in those debts.... in fact it looks like he may be loaning more to the club.
I'm only guessing like.... I feel that we are secure..

The only debt the club has is to Patrick and.... we are now recording profits for the first time since admin.
