impossible to walk back without a huge grin on your face despite the marauding neaderthals, but excellent looking back on it, we saw trevor Francis being interviewed at oakwell after the second leg and he was still winging on about it (shithappens)
2-1 away at reading easter monday the promotion season, it was then i started to believe it really could be our year
Barnsley 1 Birmingham 0 last season. Hammered two days before, in the relegation zone, promotion-chasing team coming to town with thousands of fans. What's it to be, Barnsley? Do you want to be playing the likes of Doncaster again next season? If not, then put a shift in, and put your chances away when they arrive. They did. And Nardiello put the chance away. A fantastic day, topped off by Leeads losing in the last minute. One of my proudest days watching us. Made me remember why I love you.
not going bust... numerous times during the 60's to 80s . then again recently... all the football pales into insignificance when you realise you may actually lose the football club
Most important victory 1-0 home against Brentford in 2003 to secure our League 1 status. Uptown Top Rankin scoring in the last minute. Would the club ever have recovered if it had gone down to League 2?
It WAS a huge day. I just remember going absolutely mental when Rankin scored. Felt like we'd been promoted.
Jimmy Hill said of that game..... Its football of that kind that is keeping the crowds away. Plonker.
