The ground has been left to go ramshackle over the last 10 years. To put it bluntly it's been left to fall into disrepair. In terms of match day experience when I go on my own I don't want much really. A better scoreboard, TVs that work, catering that is able to process orders quickly and efficiently, seats that are clean and a decently maintained. When I take the kids some form of entertainment and engagement. Oakwell has one of the poorer match day experiences I have been to over the last few years which is a shame. It doesn't overly matter to me but took my girls to Bradford last season and they want to go back there rather than Oakwell cos it's more fun which is a shame.
Apologies. I thought I asked a reasonable question. Don't bother answering though. The club could build you your own personal entertainment cocoon and you'd still moan about something.
Do you know what I'd absolutely chuffing love them to do? Clean the walls and roof in the ladies' toilets. I don't mean wash them or anything fancy like that, just a good sweep would be lovely. As soon as I walked through the door and joined the bit of a queue I was stood facing a wall full of huge cobwebs you could see from the other side of the room with big black spiders sitting in them.
Must have cost a few bob to have all the floodlights on full blast on one of the brightest days of the year.
When you do find something that happens at the club that meets your exacting standards please let me know. I'd hate to miss a positive comment when you do make one.
I wonder if it's a referees decision? I might be completely wrong, but I believe that if they're on at the start of a game they have to stay on?
How can we possibly expect to compete at Championship level when there's cobwebs in the ladies toilets?!
I know there is a rule about floodlights being on for afternoon kick offs but this only applies later in the year. I can't imagine any rule that dictates their use in August.
To be fair to the club ...before the flood lights came on the sky was full of black clouds then the heavens opened ... As for the state of ground, why not put yourselves in the Cryne family shoes...Would you spend money on the ground if you were trying to flog it..As delicate a subject you could approach which could be deemed, crude and inconsiderate as it may sound, Why should James waste his inheritance money on something he doesnt want to be part of ...would you
I don't think that removing them will cost us our championship place though will it? There's a reason that despite being considerably cheaper the parkway cinema in Barnsley gets much much lower attendances than cineworld does.
First rule of selling a house. Spend money making it look presentable. Second rule. Advertise that it's for sale.
