No, LT, I disagree Shepherd does seem to know what he is doing, even if it doesn't always appear to be so on this Forum. He is football mad and BFC Daft He reads the same sites as we all do, analyses like we all do, yet he has the power to follow up on the players who Wilkinson recommends. What a job lol!
PR has gone get over it. If a player is wanted enough by a club then terms (to suit both parties even if they aren't 50/50) are agreed.
But..... Wouldnt you have set a minimum fee of say £500,000 rather than the same fee we paid for him? Its give and take on both sides.
Who remembers Open Day when Macindoe corrected GS If I remember correctly GS was rattling on about avoiding relegation and Macindoe said something like.... I have not come here just to avoid relegation I want to be pushing for promotion..... That for me explains a lot as to why he has gone. Same reason MacPhail left, in there experience we are not good enough as we are at the moment, and dare I say they probably think... not likely to be either
Clauses in contracts We have no idea what things are stipulated and set in stone. We just have to get on with it, I'm afraid. Cheltenham fans are feeling pretty rotten at the moment as we have stepped in and stolen their best player. He cost them £50,000 and will cost us £100,000 To the fans though, £100,000 means nowt, they would rather have their player. I agree thoughgh. McIndoe to Wolves for a bit more than we paid for him 'a modest profit' is poor business by anyone's standards
How do we know something like that wasn't suggested but declined by McIndoe as he thought that would tie him down?
So you'd rather have no games at all than about 20 games plus a 'modest' profit on the initial outlay?
RE: Maybe even GS to pay for Knight and McCann in January I think you are right there Tina, knight as been very good and as worked his butt off over the last two games. But lets give the man a chance, he as come into a team that was low in confidence. He has worked his ar*se off the two games that he as played, and like Tina says he needs the ball to feet. I think he will adapt here at Oakwell, and if suported by the fans, and given loads of support, he will do well.
RE: No, LT, I disagree Up for it tonight Tina, never read you so passionate as tonight. But you are dead right with everything you say, and if there is a more honest and dedicated fan on this Board i have yet to see it . Keep up with the great postings.
The players agent insisted on the clause no clause, no player. simple as that. and he will have a similar clause in his Wolves contract, trust me.
RE: The players agent insisted on the clause No no no, there's only Barnsley FC subject to players demands. Every other club is wise.
Also, I'm sure the player was delighted at the previous manager's public announcement that "Barnsley will never get back into the Premiership". battle.
