We're in Edinburgh at the moment and saw a guy in the street on the Royal Mile last night playing a Brian May special and he was awesomely good. Attracted a huge crowd of people.
I’d never heard of him until now ! Not a bad CV …. Mayall band and Canned Heat. Bob Hite deserves a mention therefore … a real “heavy” solo in Amphetamine Annie was one of my most played tunes in the 60/70’s
I was watching some live clips of Rush the other day actually. Unbelievable how just 3 musicians could fill out arenas which such a rich sound.
Joint recognition must go to the 2 lead guitarists in Wishbone Ash. Argus is a masterpiece of double guitar magnificence ( chuffing hell ..I just made that up )
Are we allowed a few different guitarists ?? Alvin Lee hasn’t been mentioned yet has he ? Jose Feliciano didn’t need a plug but sure could play
I've said before that in my opinion Steve Rothery is one of the most underrated guitarists. His solo album Ghosts of Pripyat was brilliant.
