Maybe they're just big boned. In all seriousness though, I lost about a stone (15st to just under 14) in the last 3 month from having Huel drinks just for my dinner most days. Helps me not snack for the day and have a proper breakfast and tea.

I probably could lose more if I had it for every meal for a month.

Also I cut out alcohol and only bought some during the euros after not buying any since Xmas.

That's with hardly any exercise apart from walking to school with the kiddo.

Fun fact. You'll see a lot more absent dad's than absent mum's because of our sexist custody system.

The custody system isn’t a ‘thing’, but family courts, like the rest of society has a gender bias. Not to mention the clientele being a bunch of angry people wanting to ‘win’, never mind what the kids need.

And it works both ways, try negotiating with an employer for longer paternity leave so your wife can go back to work?
Or indeed look at the gender pay gap, it’s complicated.

However, I was a part time (not absent) parent and took a full part in bringing up my kids, also a pretty good step dad (according to the only person whose opinion counts).

And to complete the circle, from the age of 9 me and my teenage sisters were brought up by a single parent, who for several years couldn’t claim the ‘lone parent top up’ to the family allowance, because the law didn’t allow that for blokes (until the sex discrimination act - again, the law works both ways).

Definitely not a fact! And family courts look to 50/50 where practical.

Oh it's definitely a fact. Statistically the family courts side with the mother in the vast majority of cases. There have been numerous studies into it

Yes because mothers tend to be the primary caregiver and they do tend to stick with the status QUO.

One of the ONS statistics that they released to the public a while ago i recall said that 81.9 % of the people that had been admitted to hospital and also had been admitted to hospital and died of Covid were classed as obese or clinically obese.

those figures taken in isolation would mean without them there would have been no lockdown ,no overwhelming of the NHS etc
or certainly nowhere near as bad as it has been

The quote BBS "Evil " government cannot come out and say this as they would be literally voting themselves out of office as the overwhelming majority of people in this country are overweight or classed as obese or clinically obese

A government minister when being grilled on T.V a while ago on why so many people had died in this country actually under pressure said because of obesity and then when the interviewer fired straight back "oh its our fault then" she started trying to turn her zoom camera off and said had to leave to go to another meeting but couldn't turn it off !!

We are one if not the unhealthiest country in the world.
The numbers are shocking 75 % of over 45's overweight or obese and i would have thought the younger generation are just as bad or even worse

we all used to laugh at the fat Americans on T.V years ago and now we have probably/ overtook them.

As the O.P said one walk around town or the people at work or the cars queuing down the road at MCD'S every day and night confirms this.
Being overweight has become the norm now.

maybe people before throwing words about the lockdown or the government might want to think about the main reason of why its been so bad here might just lie a little bit closer to home.
But naw nobody's going to do that
nobody's going to blame ourselves or each other its totally there fault.

In other words, the sexist family courts. Having a vagina shouldn't mean you own the child.

It's not about what body parts you own but about who has been the primary caregiver. No one "owns" a child but statistically mothers are way less likely to walk away from their children.

A long time ago, I had the idea of bringing out a range of XXXL t-shirts with a small emblem on the chest: a drawing of a pork pie with a Latin motto underneath - "Superbus Est Crassus" (Proud To Be Fat). I never did it, because I was scared the idea might take wings and I'd be publicly castigated for encouraging obesity. Also because I'd feel a ****.

Still, the idea is out of the bag now. Do as you will with it. If it makes you rich and miserable, don't come complaining to me.
