so... you all moan when we let someone go for 500k, then when we reject it you get the monk on as well? eh?!
You've fallen into the same trap as wakeyred. Please refer to post #32 where I have kindly explained where the sensible souls are coming from.
So just because YOU thought he was one of the better performers nobody else can say anything? Times dont change do they Eaststander; your the bestest. Isnt it time for Gridiron to start?
I still like Matty Done, and I'm still I glad we haven't sold him. The fact that Conan doesn't rate him, says enough for me. He also doesn't rate Perkins and McNulty.
It's about time. I look forward to Done turning into a multi million pound player and in a year's time everyone saying what a great decision it was not to flog him for FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS.
If he stays fit he'll score 10 goals this season, might be the difference between staying up and going down - like his winner away at Reading. Bet you cheered that one, even if he is rubbish.
If he leaves for nothing then he's cost us nowt, if he leaves just before the start of the season with no time to find a replacement and we don't find another attacking midfielder/striker who's going to score his goals we might go down. I'd take the gamble and keep him.
It's hard to fathom your opinion as you spend too much time trying to put down that of others. I'm happy that Keith Hill has the choice to whether to sell Matt Done or not. There is no contract clause or pressure from the club for him to sell so if he believes putting up the not for sale sign on his current squad is the right way forward, that is absolutely fine by me. We are going to need stability if we are going to compete or indeed survive in this league and to actually be in control of our own of our own squad as regards transfers is quite refreshing. To be without debt, be in charge of our own assets and to have the power of choice are luxuries a lot of seemingly bigger clubs don't have and I for one think that is something we can nurture and build on. There is a contract for Luke Steele to look at and discuss, by the way. When he's ready. Read Gall's excellent report of the meeting with Don. Right that's the only sense anyone's getting out of me today, it is friday after all.
So you're saying he WILL score ten goals. I don't think he will. Why would you not cheer when a player scores just because you don't rate him? I cheered when he scored against Portsmouth and he took his goal VERY well. Doesn't make him a good player though. You might as well say Jimmy Glass was a great striker.
If he scores 10 goals I will bend over a let the entire cast of El Dorado dry arse me on the town hall steps.
It was a poor choice of word to say "retarded" but his original comment was so far wide of the mark. Every offer has to be judged on its own merits and people like myself (and I am clearly not alone) do not rate Matt Done and think if there is a genuine £500k bid for him then we should sell. However, if we were to sell Davies for £500k I would be gutted. I'm happy that Hill doesn't HAVE to sell, but I see this as an opportunity to sell and raise some much needed funds and I think we could put £500k to good use.
