So so jealous - we come to France for 3.5 weeks every year (not this year now!) & love Burgundy & it’s wines. Pouilly-Montrachet & Mersault are our favourites. We do all the wine routes - Côte d’Or for quality, Cote Macconais for cheaper cost. We stay halfway between Macon & Chalon & adore the region.
Thanks. We're further west in La Nièvre which as you'll know puts us roughly midway between those largely red wine regions you mention and the predominantly white wine regions around Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire. We love it here.
Happy birthday... All the best Young un.....another 10 and you can join the official silver surfers club some of us on here have been members for a few years now . Lol... Enjoy your day the best you can...
Lovely area! Lovely wine! Lovely food! Thanks to you, my wife is currently making a boeuf bourguignon!
Mmmm, Sancerre and Pouilly Fume - deliciaux. Used to go to Saint Pourcain and Vichy quite regularly - not too far away from you by the looks of it?
Not too far no, about an hour and a half's drive. There are so many wine centres to choose from, though. We've not even made it to Chablis yet. Pouilly-Fumé is our favourite. There's always plenty of that in the racks.
Happy Birthday mi old. Looking forward to the day we can go to Oakwell again. We were due to spend a fortnight in Carnac in August to hug a few stones but that looks like being next year now.
