Yeah I think that's pathetic that they are making him out to be some sort of celebrity, or guest 'star'. A bloke who ignorantly scoffs his head off with Takeaways, and gives a rating for each. Wow, give him an Obe or summat!.
Back in the 70's at Wakefield Trinity they had a schools game at half time... often more entertaining than the match... As a curtain raiser at the 1979 Challenge Cup Final Wakefield boys played Saints?... in a rip snorter of a game one of the Wakefield kids went the full length of Wembley.
When it comes to You tube, BFC official channel has 19k subscribers. This bloke has 643k. Scoffer or not, he's obviously more interesting than we are on that medium. I suggest sending Devaney out with a video recorder to rate the local disco after each away match. He can rate them for floor friendliness when it comes to doing the YMCA, pogo, funky chicken, Wigan Casino backdrop, Plymouth away 35 yarder etc. That ought to drag in a few more online punters, when he uploads his moves onto the BFC channel.
Its an interesting idea, I like it, we could call it Martin's Disco Fever lol. Maybe we could sign Joey Barton now that he's on the dole, and get him to rate all the local police stations after every away game.
Regarding Barton, it would be nice if his first police station rating was his last, before he turned his hand to rating prisons.
I like how they do half time entertainment at a few of the American sports stadiums. I've seen a few in ice hockey matches where they scab the crowd with a video camera looking for people who look like celebrities or TV characters and put them up on the big screen for people to laugh along at/with. One baseball team have a sprinter called the freeze who races a different fan each week around the perimeter of the field. The supporter gets a head start and the freeze has to overtake him by the finish line and fans go absolutely crazy for it. We could easily replicate that with the amount of space we have in front of the away end and east stand.
You might notice that they're sat there with their food and drink. Which our non=celebrities won't be.
Can’t believe the stick Danny is getting his reviews are great, massive amount of followers he does work for charity too, bloke lost his wife several years ago.
