Get him signed if we've got nobody better lined up - we're short on the wing.

Resisting treatment from a paramedic, then apologising and holding your hands up to your massive error = rape and continuing denial with no contrition then?

    Interesting moral compass.

Ched Evans might yet prove himself innocent I guess. Some of the evidence that has convicted him might look a tad ropey, but at the moment he is a convicted rapist with no admission of guilt or apology. Even if he wasn't guilty of rape he ought to apologise for being a morally bankrupt grubby little *****. He hasn't. And all we know for a fact, the things being rumoured aside, is that a jury of his peers found him guilty of rape. Don't want him near our football club.

Adam hammill got mouthy and physical towards some innocent paramedics who were trying to help him. An incident which showed him up for the arrogant ***** he was and for which he received punishment, but an incident which he clearly regrets and has apologised unreservedly for. I don't see the two in the same ballpark and don't see that as a barrier to his signing. His overall arrogance seems to have waned too.

I'm guessing he isn't half of that player hence him getting bombed out at Huddersfield and not having a great loan at Rotherham last season. Probably too costly a risk for us.

Just playing devils advocate as you said you didn't care about baggage (clearly you care about some baggage)
For the record, I would love Hammil to come back

What happened with him? He seemed so motivated when with us. I've been really surprised he's struggled so much, I thought he really wanted it.

Agreed. I know he's said sorry for what he did but an appology is easy. I'd still rather not risk bringing him back.

  11. Would definitely give him a go if he wants to rebuild his reputation with us. He was class last time.

Get him here on trial. As long as the hungers there then give him a permanent deal

He was given a lifeline by Huddersfield last season. Rehab. He took it. Then, after that treatment, was found pissed in Liverpool the weekend of a game. He was farmed out on loan to Rovrum. No idea how he got on there. But he was given another chance (think he's had a child recently too) by Hudders this summer, went on the pre-season trip to Spain, played a couple of friendlies out there. Then, the last night, got mortal, ended up losing his wallet, money and mobile, and acquiring a black eye when arguing over beer with a local. Which went down well with the manager etc. Was made available for transfer/loan. Nobody interested. Few weeks later, after no interest, they've released him. And they're a club that aren't exactly flush with good players right now.

The lad has baggage. I feel for him. The demon drink. It ruined him at Wolves, where he first ****** up. Mick McCarthy wasn't as forgiving as Chris Powell, but it seems Powell's had enough. Only one bloke's got owt out of him - Mark Robins. Scunny bound perhaps?

I hope he sorts himself out, football or otherwise.

    sad

on the right money I'd personally give him a chance, as he has the ability, but at the end of the day LJ has to judge the effect on the squad as a whole

a lot of impressionable youngsters & you would understand him not wanting an alcoholic in the camp for those reasons

so we have a good professional who trains hard, scores goals, assists and technically is one of the best players on the ball in the dig. yet some would swap him for an alcoholic, who abuses his position and has lost his focus on the game. Who are the people who would make that decision, can we have a poll
