I feared for my life every time Maceo Rigters was in front of goal in the ponty end. I sit right on the left hand side, near Grove Street and he almost hit me a couple of times, and he could hit a ball.

    Jay......excellent post re David Geddes.

He was a great player for BFC and looking back, how did we manage to sign him? Wouldn't happen in this modern age would it........

I just remember him being quality, wouldn't have him down as a hardman, no more so than a lot of players back then, you had to be able to look after yersen.

I remember just a few months prior to him turning up at Oakwell he had an interview published in "Shoot" magazine. As stated previously, he was very much a back up for Shaw and Withe at Villa and in response to the situation he said "The thought of playing for a club like Barnsley or Sheffield Wednesday really appeals to me". At the time both clubs were pushing for promotion, playing great football (well maybe not the Piggies) and packing crowds in. I think this is the only time that I can remember that a decent player has ever come out publically and said he wanted to play for us.

Not being funny, YN, but why even make the effort to make a post like that?
