Hardly know how to assess that, but I'll try!

Thanks for that DD. Yes, he does need help and it will take a big man to come out and say so. Whether or not he will remains to be seen.

I think he can get it right IF he is given the time. The law of football averages though suggests that his borrowed time ran out a few defeats ago. I don't know why he has survived into an 8th successive league defeat. But he has, unless tomorrow brings some alternative news.

As you say, I don't see this as a relegation group either. The two campaigns that I mentioned above when we fell into the Fourth Division were totally different to this one. Then there was no hope. This season there IS hope and plenty to work on.

It will just take a spark, a lucky win. Yesterday, for example, SSW got really lucky with his goal. Had that been 1-0 to us we would have won it and that could then have set us on the road to mid table again.

I'm not giving up yet, nor will I until it's beyond redemption.

I totally get that 8 consecutive defeats against by and large a bunch of pub teams is totally unacceptable. Especially with the quality of players we have. I also know the average time a football manager keeps is job is 15 months (I believe). But unless you have limited amount of money and players want to play for you its not just as easy as lets get player x in tomorrow.
I do actually think relegation is a real possibility but sacking yet another manager wont solve anything.
If I was severely under performing at work Id like to think I would be given a realistic amount of time to change my approach and improve my performance.

I too saw both relegations those dark days the easy route of defeatism that hung in the air like a bad smell. The lack of motivation to the apathy shown from the board down are deeply ingrained in my memory.
Unlike todays situation all hope was either lost or ignored and we became a lost cause.
Fast forward to the present and most of our problems stem from a manager/ head coach who unfortunately falls short and in my opinion is over complicating a simple game and applies tactics that the players feel totally uncomfortable with. His reading of the game is alienated to the vast majority and the way he deludes himself with the talent that they posses, sees them being asked to play in a way that is far beyond their skill levels.
unfortunately the board and the owner have allowed themselves to be placed in a situation whereby their standing is now being undermined and questioned by once again making error after error thus burying their heads in the sand and sitting on the fence before taking action to remedy the situation.couple this with a poor recruitment policy in the close season.
Just like those dark days all could and can be avoided if some one was to take the bull by the horns and change not only the direction of the recruitment policy but the club in general and in lee johnsons case the manager.
    sooner than later.....sooner the better
