2-2. Our number 7 (a sub) lost possession on the edge of the area. Edit: Harrison Nejman was the #7, I think.
Jalo's been in a couple of tussles with their left back, Mattock, right in front of where I'm sat. He's been pulled up for fouls both times (probably correctly), but he's not afraid to be physical. Looks like a decent prospect, given he's only 16.
It's been a good chance for young uns to play against men. It's a friendly . I understand those that have took the trouble to travel. But these are good times for us . New manager new blood . Take the positives against a good Harogate side from what I hear.
Quick match report: I'm home already as it was against my local team. I'm so glad I finally got to see the Reds play at Wetherby Road, but disappointed it was such an inexperienced line up. I am sure many of those travelling from down south will have been shocked to see so few first first teamers but I suppose we have to understand the manager's motivation so I'm not really criticising. Decent showing second half after a poor first 44 minutes where it looked like we were going to be over run by an experienced home team. They had one or two youngsters as well but, overall, it was the archetypal men v boys set up. Luckily Aiden Marsh got us a scrambled equaliser just before the half time whistle and it was just about deserved (I think!). Jalo had a rasping effort into the side netting and Thomas looked lively, and should have scored. Second half was much better and there were only a few changes rather than the wholesale change over that often happens in friendlies. The three I have mentioned above continued to play well enough without really looking like scoring. Jalo was in for some rough treatment but seemed to get through it unscathed. Thomas was the revelation for me. Looks a different player. Walton did all he had to do apart from conceding two goals, looking reasonably solid in his shot stopping. I can't say I noticed much from anyone else but, overall, it looked a better unit as the game progressed, so that's encouraging for the future at least. Could be a strange season as, so far we have seen a goal from Brittain (very hard to believe) and now one from Moon. It was a good diving header as well. Overall a good work out and worth my £11 ticket money. Nice to meet North Yorks Red who, like me, was sitting in the home stand. Pleased to report that we escaped unscathed - I tried to keep my support as low key as possible.. Hoping to get down to Oakwell for the Cheltenham match and I expect to see a very different eleven turning out that day. Good evening's entertainment all round tonight, but it was obviously a "friendly".
