newcastle away when we got battered 6-0 6 of us inc 3 young un's and our own fans refused to move from our seats, *******! so we sat on on the steps, stewards came to move us, pointing to odd seats scattered about, we refused to budge but they were too scared to challenge our own dick'ed fans so they put us in with their fans and was absolutely brilliant sat with them despite the score
Tottenham away end when we played Enfield, 1981, cops sent us there for a joke, moved us before half time, bit scary, full of skinheads, think they were non-plussed/confused by us. Sheff United in cup game in 1990. 2 2 draw, celebrated a reds goal and BBC idiots descended on us. Stood about five seats away from us, 2 cops in stand, mouthed all second half but did nowt, followed cops out at full time.
I sat in the Kop when we won 1-0 at Anfield with my Liverpool mates in the Premier League season Lars Leese Keeper of Dreams. They looked after me. Top people.
Anfield in the premier league season. Liverpool supporting mate got me the ticket. Travelled with him and 3 other scouse fans. i was reminded many many times in the car and pub pre match not to forget to stand up and look like i was celebrating all the goals that were about to flood in. The journey home was glorious, although it nearly resulted in me being left behind at a service station on the M62 by a rather disgruntled driver who seemed pissed off at me trying to shoehorn Ashley Wards name into every conversation
Chelsea in premiership season wearing a Chelsea shirt. I was with a gang of Chelsea supporters travelling up from Bognor Regis on the train. They were a bit loud and raucous but they looked after me.
Walked into work on the Monday with a swagger!! One of the kids said on the Friday they'd batter us. Waited at the door for him with a big smile on my face - lol
I was in the Man Utd end for that 7-0 hammering. Wednesday on the Kop in the ZDS. But there were about 300 on there that night. Stoke in the FA Cup pink panther game waving an Irish Tricolour with Barnsley written on it was a particularly dumb thing to do. Portsmouth in the 90’s. Keeping quiet was a requirement. Every Boro game since 2000. No problems.
Rotherham possibly the last time we played them. Kicked every ball we got; her next to me must have thought I was a bit of a nutter.
Quite a few times at QPR used to go with a mate who is a fan and sit with him worst one was the 4-0 thrashing when we resorted to dangerous Brian O’Callaghan at Centre forward. Had the unfortunate experience of QPR fans being nice and sympathetic to me Been in their end against us 4 or 5 times and never seen us score when there. Once went with a workmate to watch us at Watford and we lost 3-0. These days I try and be in our end so at least those around me are miserable too
Definitely West Brom as a kid on several occasions. I can confirm that it's just as cold for the home fans! There was another one too when I was growing up - pretty sure it was Walsall now I think about it. Vividly remember standing right up at the front, presumably because my dad was keeping me away from the home fans...
Yes 2011 FA Cup West Ham away. Lost 2-0 went with my cockney mate wore my flat cap, most West Ham fans around could tell I was a Barnsley fan I'm not very quiet
Early eighties, Brammall Lane in the Milk Cup, the one with the cow on a lorry, sat in John Street stand as we battered them 3-1 Got some dog's abuse from some pretty elderly blunts fans, lots of threats which mysteriously vanished with their owners before the end!
Yeah it’s a crap experience, my mate was a Man Utd season ticket holder and got us tickets for the FA cup game at old Trafford we were sat just to the side of the Stretford end, when we scored I just had to sit there while my mate was nudging me and laughing. Also Blackburn away when Higgy scored a latish winner I was sat next to the away end with my uncle who was a Blackburn season ticket holder, had to just sit there again while Barnsley fans were going mental. Also I was in hospitality when we played Blackburn in the premier league at Eawood park, felt a bit safer then to show some emotions, but we lost and loads of folk around me were giving me some friendly chat as a result, but at least I got to meet Ashley Ward afterwards as he came up to the general hospitality room afterwards!
Yea done it at elland road a few times (the 3-3 and also when we beat then when Vaz scored, and a defeat when Moore missed from an impossible position ) and Hillsboro . Nearly got beaten up on all occasions. Not very enjoyable also at donny when we scored in the last minute…
Sat in the Welsh away end at the Millennium stadium when England were playing a good number of years ago. England scored and it turned out there were plenty of England fans around me who couldn’t contain themselves. Needless to say some of them got battered. Do remember one England fan come tumbling down the stairs with blood on his face.
