I thought the club (Don?) had already announced he would be getting a further 12 month contract ........ or was that just a dream?

Will be a tragedy if they don't keep him on for his testimonial season ...... I agree he should be playing as well, on the bench or in the starting 11 every week. Top man

Could it be possible that Bobby has a clause in his contract that states if he plays x number of games, that it is automatically extended for one year on the same terms? Just a thought.

Spot on. I'd love to see him here next season but his contract terms have to reflect his age and position in the squad. We can't afford to pay someone top wages agreed at a time when we had more money available to be a squad player

TBH...its almost impossible to offer anyone a contract with the position we are in..
I find it funny that all folk insisting the club be run financially by the book, are wanting to offer deals to players coming to the end of there career...or top earners
It will totally depend on which league we are in, to weather Hassell Steele or anyone else gets offered any kind of deal and it will not be offered while May at the earliest

Could have picked a better photo for the article. He's got a look of Barry Chuckle about him in that photo. If he's not here next season it would be a disgrace. It wouldn't be a surprise though if he's no longer around considering the constant stream of mistakes our club make.

Only a week or so ago Mr.Rowing said that someone was giving some thought as to what to do to mark Bobby's long service. If this is it, I am not impressed. Will someone in authority come on here and say why he is not in the team as players only half as good keep their place. Loyalty goes both ways.

Another load of crap from The Star to go with the £1.5 million for Stones and S'OD's got the job, don't believe anything they print these days.

The Don said it would be criminal if he didn't get another year and his Testimonial.

Can we just add in that this is The Sheffield Star.

    - Uwe Rosler for gaffer
    - £1.5 million for Stones
    - Sean o'Driscoll had signed.

I know it's a quote from Bobby but it does say initial talks have been discussed, he wants to stay and would take on a coaching role. He'll be here next year - chill art.

would love to like that he should offered a new contract that involves coahing.

however to say he is one of the best players you have ever seen is crazy

When you're overlooked for 18 months in favour of Wiseman then of course you're bound to fear for your future at the club.

Look, if this club can afford to gamble 4k a week on Mido, we can give Bob another contract. Loyalty.

Will be gutted and angry if he isn't given another contract no matter what league we are in. Deserves a testimonial season and should be kept on as a coach/community man!!

Pfft, imagine signing a player from Mansfield Town. He'll never be good enough for Barnsley.

A question I would like to ask is he a good coach? We can't give him a playing contract if he's no longer up to it.

He probably can't remember it because it wasn't off the line. He intercepted the shot with a lunge but he was at least 6 yards from goal probably more. In my memory anyway. But then it is ****.
