to be fair, footballers get dropped. every manager in the history of managers, has taken an irrational like and dislike to players, against the general consensus of fans. it just happens. you could also argue the media reactions were reactions to questions intended to be provocative. i personally think some newspaper articles were out of line, and had more than journalistic interest at heart. even bobby didn't welcome the attention on the subject. at a time when flicker was trying to unify the group, i don't think these questions were very helpful. flicker has also gone on record several times, in praise of bobby hassell. he even personally singled him out as a Club legend, when he spoke on stage with MM at the open day. i know he did, cos i was a yard from the stage. for the record, i think bob is a true BFC legend, an ambassador for the Club and i think it's been a huge mistake not playing him more. but hand on heart, i haven't personally seen or heard anything which i would really constitute as 'treating him like $hit'
It's not selection policy related. Although, that was idiotic, ignoring a proven performer at this level. The mistreatment of he and a handful of others has been a disgrace but it's not my place to explain why or what it was that went off. In fact, who would believe it anyway? Just hearsay innit.
Oh I dunno Whitey. Some people are respected more than others round here. It is just opinion though, as it stands. I'm not saying people aren't right in their views, just that I don't think there's not enough info out there to justify the view that flicker treated him like $hit.
I'd love to hear Flickers take on Bobby and Fozzy now he has no more reason to lie about his true feelings.
