RE: About the same

Its just like England. Lampard/Gerrard and Howard/Leon/JCR. Exactly the same!

Now who is going to be Barry?

Only right sided player that looks like he could be a wing back

is Van Homoet, but having seen the 3-5-2 formation against Wigan and what an utter shambles we were, I'm hoping that idea has been dropped.

    Everybody isn't fit though.

Our central midfield is to be chosen from Howard and, err, a full back and a winger.

One of the unfit ones (Colace) is new to this hemisphere never mind the English league.

It might all work swimmingly, but it's a big risk to take.

The system may work if De Silva was there to organize it from middle.

    RE: basically no

I think with practice van homoet could do it. His defending improved last season, and he has the pace to get forward. But it would take some time to adapt. And we have nobody else. I also think van homoet and el haimour down the left will cause problems for some teams. Although it's probably us.

I think any system instantly gets better when you get a player of da silva's class pulling the strings. It's just a question of *if* and when he gets back to that level.

You've hit the nail right on the proverbial !

We need to sign Gareth Barry - funds available, box office...

Why would he want to go to Liverpool ? We beat them and Chelsea, so therefore... :D

I think you could be right

But I don't think we can afford to wait a few months for players to learn a new trade.

I also don't think it matters who we have on the wings if Hassell is played in the middle because whichever side he plays on will get absolutly no balls dished out to them because he'll be too busy passing back to foster.

Aye, and don't get me started on foster. Best central defender at the club. Forced to play full back. I hope its only a matter of time until he's back in the middle.

It is a big risk and Colace is probably a gamble we didn't need but all signings are gambles. Lets hope he brings a couple in on
    loan.

For me we should be starting with something like this

    Steele

Kozluk - Foster - Souza - Van Homoet

JCR - Johnson - Howard - El Thingy (i'll work out how to spell it soon)

    Hume - Macken

Subs: Letheran, Hassell, Devaney, Odejayi, Togwell (is he still here?)

Looks like a good XI, but I would have Moore with his vast experience on the bench to put on when we're up 1 - 0 and late in the second half :D

Didn't we try putting JCR in the middle against Hull?

Didn't we get made to look stupid?
