Re: Ah but you have.... Every second woman in Russia is at least that hot! Just rather less scantily clad at this time of year!
Nobody can deny that the climate is changing. What is seriously open to question is the amount of influence man is having on that process.
Of the last ~4.5 billion years this planet has been in existence, we have accurate climate records for a few hundred years. If this was drawn on a graph 4,500km long, climate data representing the last 1,000 years would fill the last 1m of the graph. Scientists have found evidence of an ice age in this part of the country around 10,000 years ago (and at other times), suggesting that the planet has warmed and cooled by itself. The fact is, we do not have sufficient data to know whether mankind is having any effect on the climate at the moment and that big yellow ball in the sky probably has more effect on climate than we do...
If it was not for the fact you have just got another little baby, i would come round and slap you silly . You have 2 beautiful kids mate, enjoy them while they are small, because one day they will grow up just like YOU!!!!!(They must get their looks from their mum)
We may have global warming, but we have had this in the past (as Scoff says). Do we actually know whether factors like increased CO2 levels are directly influencing global temperatures, or is it a simple fact of life that over the long-term, the climate does actually change? When the Romans arrived in UK it was said to be "Tropical".........so climate has and is changing.
I agree pal. I've said all along if they come out looking like me, they'll be back up. Luckily they look like their mum and so they won't look like me!!!
I wouldn't say it's fairly common to have weather like this in April. I know it can be cold but this unlike anything I can remember.
Statistically it's more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas. It's really not surprising, just a relief it didnt happen when the sun's power was considerably less, as it would indeed by very, very cold and far snowier.
Current theories are that increased CO2 (and other gases) in the atmosphere increases the absorption of heat from the suns rays, thus increasing the overall temperature of the planet. Other things - volcanic eruptions, solar output (which is cyclic) can also affect it. The latest thing I saw was that clouds are seeded from solar rays, so increased solar rays cause more clouds, which in turn increases the albedo (or the other way around) lowering the average temperature... The fact is, the climate has changed over thousands, and millions of years and not all the affecting factors are known yet, never mind fully understood. Anthropogenic Global Warming is probably a contributing factor to climate change, but we do not accurately know how much is is actually affecting it.
If the suns power was considerably less we would all be pretty much be frozen solid. The suns output is variable within certain limits, but the rotation of the Earth affects the seasons and the amount of sunlight this part of the planet gets.
