    Southend wanted him too

    Until they got relegated.

    I'd snap him up straight away, on the odd occasions I saw him against Rangers and Celtic when I was given free tickets, he had decent games and stood his ground.

    Let's hope GS has some sense and gets his signature against a contract soon.

    No it wasn't

    If you read my post properly I said he was down at Wycombe having talks with them and we were planning on speaking to him next week at the latest.

    He wants to play under Paul Lambert and work his way up the football league, plus the fact they offered him £100,000 towards a new house probably helped!

    And it doesn't look like we could have competed with a League 2 club financially either is what you're saying?

    We hadn't spoken to him

    But we had plans to.

    He signed before we had chance to talk to him.

    I'm not saying Wycombe outbid us at all, but they offered him a good deal, which he was never gunna turn down. I couldn't possibly comment on what we would've offered him.
