RE: I still think that whilst ......

Fans were never mentioned. Hayes was on about changes of managers and their respective prospects. It sounded like he wanted to get away from talking about Davey/Barnsley and focus on Scunny. He was on about Barnsley and then said ( I think this is accurate ) " But anyway, I don't give 2 hoots about Barnsley now, I'm a Scnuthorpe player" - the conversation up to that point had been about Barnsley.

i think he was the bad apple in the camp and dint get on with the others. out of all the times the players have been out round town how many times has he been with em?? i cant remember any

and the end of the day he didn't pull his weight and therefore didn't play. Nads tried at the end (when i finally got fully fit) and look what happened

so all in all i say good riddance to him. may have scored a few important goals for us but there is no room for sentiments, and idle tw@ts

just make sure hes out against us as its odds on he scores

I'm not sure I agree with your comments Doddy. We should'nt critise a guy for not going around town with the other Pi55 heads. Also, were there other things going off which we may never know about, causing Hayes to be Pi55ed off with the club?

    Hayes departure

from Scunny in the first place was along the same lines.

Fell out with the management towards the end of his contract.

At the end of the day he's bitter that he was dropped from the team and others brought in.

i didnt mean he should be a pi$$ head, just that he never seemed to socialise with the rest. maybe there was things behind the scenes but lets forget it now

    quim

quim rhymes with dim. Which is what most owners of quim are.

I think Hayes assessment of Davey is spot on , but Davey is the manager and clearly didn't see Hayes fitting into his team. However the tactics used by Davey and the club to get rid of the players he didn't want are a disgrace, leaking negative stories about players to the press to deliberately unsettle them can only be bad for the club, then to take your bat and ball home when the press write something the club doesn't like ,makes us look stupid. You reap what you sow

You mean like McIndoe did with Donny Rovers?

To be honest, it's not a very classy thing to do.

I'm puzzled by Hayes' attitude to all of this. It's not the first time he has departed under a cloud.
Why would Barnsley throw away £200k for the sake of a technicality?
Why did he regard his contract offer (the same terms as he was already getting) derisory?

Football Managers just don't take a dislike to people "for the hell of it". Hayes is talented, and he should just knuckle down and let his football do the talking.
Will he be fired up for the game against Barnsley? You bet. What Scnuthorpe will get for the remainder of the season is anyones guess.

I will long remember his contribution in the playoff victory for the right reasons - it's a pity that Paul himself regards this as a "bad memory".

After the Play off final Hayes' dad said that Paul was keen to get back down south sooner or later. His wife I believe comes from Scnuthorpe so going there's the next best thing.
Hayes himself is generally a nice bloke.

He scored an impressive goal for Scnuthorpe at Chelsea against John Terry and, having scored a dozen or so goals for the Iron, thought he was the bees knees and should be moving on up to the Premiership. As his contract was due to expire at Scnuthorpe at the end of the season, he thought himself above reproach and stopped playing with any enthusiasm. Had rows with the manager about not trying. Does this sound familiar? It is a tragedy because he has huge talent and a great first touch, as well as an eye for goal. Trouble for him will be that the Scnuthorpe fans have long enough memories to remember how he got above himself, fell out with Laws and then stopped trying too hard. Have a look and see how the goals dried up that season. He'd better score a few early goals and try a bit, otherwise the boo-boys will be after him. Perhaps the manager was right to remember about his being thought of as lazy - it might make him try. I bel he will be trying on 15th September!!
