Got my fingers crossed for them, hopefully cctv will back them up 0 but wouldn't surprise me if that evidence 'went missing'

Get solicitors to get CCTV. If they've done nowt wrong they'll be ok. (trust me from experience)

They are all good lads, I've travelled to matches with The courthouse and ocasionally tagged along with Kempy and the others on the train AMA also with Blue, Selwin etc and I'd have no hesitation at travelling with them again.

So off putting to hear about the attack as I myself could've been there and with the size of me compared to some of the lads that usually go with Blue I'd have come of worse. Even more worrying is the fact only 1 of the attackers was arrested as they'll all probably be there for the next derby game.

This lot like to drink yes, but they are a responsible lot and NEVER CAUSE TROUE. They also take the majority of reds fans to away games.

Just hope that Courthouse Reds continue through this as it would be a massive shame to loose all the hardwork they have done organising since the move from the rising sun.

Would also like to point out for anyone who is still reading Blue is a top bloke, who wouldn't go looking for trouble at all. I've seen him knock groups of roudy young lads into line.

Ayup Gally. If what people are saying in this thread is right then these lads could do with some representation from the supporters trust and from a higher level too if you can point them in that direction. There was an article posted on here earlier in the week about how football supporters are treated entirely differently to the rest of society. Sounds like this is exactly the type of thing they were talking about. Needs investigating at the very least.

I was on my own Saturday, normally i'd walk back into town have a couple of pints a bar meal in a spoons or something, and wait for a later train calling for a few cans on the way to the station no matter which town where in, on Saturday i left my seat as the injury time went up called for a piss and left the ground with a pub in mind that i went in last season, with being out in front of most fans i thought i'd get a riddle on and get my food order in before others from the ground came in i'd been drinking most of the day and was that hungry i could have ate a horse and had the jockey for pudding, as i was walking to the town, it just didn't seem right, looking up the hill towards where i was heading it looked as though Leeds where in town i've never seen as many Bobbys but it was pretty quite and i thought maybe its because the yellow vests are standing out because theirs not many others blocking the view of them, i crossed the main road and walked towards the station looked behind me and saw that it was full of people where i'd just come from but still ever 50 yards their where two coppers then as i was walking past building with ally ways and side roads i noticed they where full of groups of blokes in 5's & 6's and one or two just hanging around in the streets in plain view of the police now i'm talking fully grown blokes in their 30s not the normal late teens early 20s making a lot of noise and no action these where fully grown blokes on the down low using their mobile blowers a lot and bouncing about geeing each other up and asking bloke on phone whats he say where is he and that sort of thing, even though i'd had quite a bit of ale i still had my wits about me and having been to quite a lot of away games in my time i just seemed to know something wasn't right seeing these groups and the large amount of police it just didn't ring true so i thought thats it i off on next train home i'm not hanging about on my own to be picked off, i called in the offy as i passed got a sandwich and a few cans as i was paying you could hear things happening outside i looked through the window and saw people running about looking back towards the ground, as i walked out of the shop i saw people scrapping out side the ally ways i'd just walked past i saw a few faces i'd seen before at oakwell and away games the police was in the thick of it and the riot van pulled up, by this time i could see the station and even more coppers outside it so i carried on my way, and at this point i saw all the young knob heads coming out of the wood work talking hard trying to talk each other to "get stuck in" i also started to see a lot more people i knew from sight as being Barnsley fans a felt a bit more at ease one or two more scuffles broke out with the young uns then i was in the train station, train was in so i got on, and that was that, my day had been cut short, but i was alright and felt safe again, heard one or two things about the trouble from the lads on the train they said people had been picked off as they walked past side roads, so i felt i'd been lucky not to get a crack myself, but as i said i'd a feeling something wasn't right and kept on my toes

Nightmare you need to tell police about that.

Huddersfield is a place I know well. Me and 2 mates after the play off game were set on around there. 3 of us and must have been around 25 of them.

They were all soft as s**t too who didn't do too much damage. None of us were looking for trouble and never have done but for about 5 mins had to defend ourselves. The smallest guy who was about 5ft 6 got the most of it and he wouldn't harm a fly.

Shocking to hear all this. I saw and talked to Blue and his mate about half four (I walked out at three nil). As ever, they were just minding their own business

Hopefully there are a few more witnesses and, even better, some CCTV evidence. It could have been any of us caught up in that, so I feel for the lads involved and hope they get well represented.

Huddersfield's retard element have previous on this - picking on completely random folk walking back after the playoff semi. Don't get me wrong - I think anyone who goes to football matches to fight is completely brain-dead and should be publicly flogged, but I was under the assumption there was some sort of ridiculous honour amongst thieves that they'd only have a go at like-minded phuckwits from the opposing fans. Clearly not amongst the knuckle-draggers from Huddersfield. Wasn't there Saturday, but back at the semi, groups of four/five of their morons were attacking solitary Barnsley fans - shirts, scarves, the works, making their way back to the car-parks. Nothing but contempt for these cowardly b'stards.

I travelled away with the Rising Sun back in the day, and Cuz and Blue were usually in charge etc. Top pair of blokes from my experiences, and not a hooliganistic (created a new word) bone in their bodies.

Tall guy, shaved head, maybe about 50? Know the name but can't picture the face. Know I've spoke to him many times though.

I remember the play-off semi, as we stayed behind after to the salute the team they were circling ready to attack, as a Huddersfield resident it does make me feel uncomfortable in familiar surroundings going to watch us at the Mcalpine. I feared the worst last game of last season if it gone differently.

If the lads need the cctv then following this link will tell them what they need to do http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/transport/roads/cctv.aspx
It seems it is only kept for 1 month so they need to get a wriggle on, and if anybody can't sleep tonight they can try reading the CCTV code of conduct, I'm sure it will do the trick!

Mmm.. The Huddersfield Examiner reports (from information released by the police) that a Huddersfield Town supporter was attacked in St George's Square leading to the arrest of 5 men. Have a look as this is in stark contrast to what has been suggested?

It's a shame because every team has good and bad fans. I've never felt anything but safe going to Huddersfield Town ground. Last saturday a quick pint at Northern Taps before walking to Aspley Mariner and getting some dinner. It was full of tarn fans (some boys not quite teens were singing for Paddy McCourt in there) and not one ounce of trouble. As they weren't walking down or back up St Andrews Road. Granted I was walking back up it around twenty past four. I know a young lady who got mugged a few years ago up by the taxi rank at the train station by a man and woman and trust me CCTV footage will have this attack captured from all angles. Hopefully those responsible are dealt with properly rather than with a slap on the wrist.

Re: Heard that Blue & some others from Courthouse Reds got a pasting & arrested yeste

    Here you go

    http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/huddersfield-town-fan-assaulted-gang-6770510

A Huddersfield Town fan was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked by a gang of four men during a football related brawl in St George’s Square.

The fracas, which police have just made public, happened on Saturday at 6.20pm after the Town game against Barnsley at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Police were called and one officer was assaulted during a struggle.

Police then arrested five males aged 50, 49, 41, 28 and 26 who have since been bailed.

Acting Det Insp Ian Thornes said: “Police were called at 6.20pm to St George’s Square after reports of an affray. Officers attended and during the arrests one officer suffered a injury to the hand.

“Five males were subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray. One suspect was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.”

Detectives are now studying CCTV footage of the train station area to help with the ongoing enquiry.

Det Insp Thornes added: “All five males were detained in custody overnight on Saturday and released on police bail the following morning. Enquires are ongoing.”

The trouble off the pitch came after Barnsley issued a formal apology following heated exchanges between their players and travelling fans. The club launched an investigation after midfielder Stephen Dawson and winger Brek Shea responded to a section of angry supporters after the final whistle on Saturday.

Anyone with information should contact Det Con White or Det Sgt King at Huddersfield CID on 101.

No idea which version of events is correct or even if it's the same incident. The opening post says it happened after leaving the game early, this says 6:20 pm. Although two sets of Barnsley fans arrested, one being reported and the other not seems weird.
I wonder if the officer injured his hand from cracking someone in the face?

From what I gather it happened during the match so why is a Huddersfield supporter at the train station? Just pathetic from the west yorkshire police.Blue etc do not cause trouble and never will do.

Doesn't sound good. Hopefully this is poor journalism and the barnsley fans involved were not those at fault. Doesn't make for good reading and if it turns out they are the culprits not the victims hope the law throws the book at them. Someone I know died on the 8th of Feb from being punched once in a nightclub in Halifax. No place for violence. It's usually the innocent family man who is killed as was the situation in the case I refer too.
