Lot of bitter people on here regarding Hecky. Slaviša Jokanović, a manager with 2 promotions to Premier League had the same players at his disposal and couldn’t get them playing to the level Hecky has them now. Hecky is a good manager/head coach and he’s a million times better than the current clueless berk we have in charge.

Tbf, they looked like they'd turned the corner just before he was sacked. Boro had that though FA cup match so I wasn't expecting them to win tonight.

The O.P. seems to be under the impression that Hecky would have actually wanted to come back.

    Fantasy.

One of the best two we've had until his team was sold from underneath him. The current jokers wanted him out in order to appoint their own yes-men. I'm glad for Hecky that he works for clubs with more ambition than us.

I take it you are suggesting that Hecky did not want the job at Leeds which effectively set him up for life ? He jumped ship for the 20 pieces of silver & I do not blame him one iota we would all do the same but it makes me smile when fans suggest he was hard done by , I wish my bank account had been treated as badly .

Yes. He’s awful isn’t he. Did nothing here. Not doing anything at the Blunts and we’re just about to qualify for the Champions League.

I am not suggesting that at all. Nor does anything in my post suggest that. He could not have refused the Leeds job even had he been supported, which he was not.

Regards the contract, it is my belief - although not anything I can prove - that when Leeds expressed an interest Gauthier Ganaye quickly got Hecky to sign a new contract with the release clause in it as a condition of being allowed to speak to them. That is some way from the allegation that he signed another contract and then went back on his word.

I think Heckys management ability has been done to death on here , the post I responded to was suggesting he left because he had ‘sussed’ our owners out as being incompetent, which wasn’t true . He hadn’t exactly excelled in management on leaving us but good luck to him , ask most Blunt fans when he was appointed , they were in melt down . I hope he does well but he didn’t leave us because of the owners

I think Hecky was frustrated by our owners
Given our current coach I think having any of our previous managers back could be an improvement!

No, my post didn't suggest that either. He was undermined in his work by the releasing of his better players. The new owners did want their own type of coach in - just look at the profile of those they have appointed so far. But Hecky left because he received a vastly better offer. As for Blunts fans, I suspect they might have a different response now!

I haven’t replied to your posts , but he signed a contract which if they wanted rid of him wouldn’t have been offered , I wasn’t unduly unhappy he’d signed and I’m I understand why he took the Leeds job but some people are using the not resigning of Hecky after or even before Schopp to lambast the owners when he hadn’t really excelled since leaving us

I couldn't disagree more (respectfully) with your first sentence. Gauthier saw Leeds coming and moved to maximize the club's reward from that. Understandable, but it negates the "Hecky signed a new contract and then pissed off" narrative. I think at Leeds he wasn't supported, but to be honest which manager would have been retained if Bielsa was in prospect? As for Hibs, they have their own issues and have fair rattled through managers in recent years. My understanding is that he was happy enough with the U-23's job at Bramall Lane but the Board asked him to take the position once Slavisa floundered, and following on from his spell as caretaker once Wilder left. We are a low-rent club who can't hang on to a decent player and therefore will always struggle to hang on to a decent coach. The supposed financial clout of our current owners led me to hope that we would have moved on from that era. It has turned out to be the same as ever, and our owners appear to want to have success with low to zero investment, being unprepared to pledge either their own funds or their creditworthiness in pursuit of investment in the squad. It was ever thus, and so (seemingly) ever shall it be.

He can move to Sheff United but it appears he’s still kept that Barnsley trait of been useless at Coventry
