Not taking the piss like.

But do you have any figures for the type of fat which is broken down by the body to produce energy during aerobic exercise?

To be honest it's some thing I've never given much thought to.

    Source as above.

Fats that deposit as **** stuff in our bodies rather than being burned off as energy.

It's what builds up on arteries which leads to heart disease.

My dad found out first hand a few years ago.

I agree with what you say. That's the general view and one I try and follow myself.

I will dip into "Physiology of Sport and Exercicse" by Wilmore and Costill to see if they have ant thing to say about it.

Not to night though I bought a book tonight which I want to get into.

    Mostly everything you eat scarily.

Look at the nutritional information on the backs of packets of food, most foods should tell you, but not all do.

yeh will do. cos although I am lean on the outside maybe the saturated fats are building on the inside!! I rememeber stuff off tv saying that cooked fats are worse than others cos they convert or something? Like fats in cakesa nd stuff?

    Yeh that's what's scary.

My dad wasn't classed as overweight at the time he found out he had heart disease, but his main artery was almost 90% blocked!

But after advice he cut out a lot of fats just buy checking stuff before eating it and lost 3 extra stone we didn't know he had.

    RE: Someone find out

Just opened the book and here's what they say.

Excessive saturated fat consumption is a risk factor for numerous diseases.

Here's an edited list of the % of saturated fats in some common fats and oils:

    Coconut oil 86%

    Butter 68%

    Beef fat 48%

    Pork Fat 40%

    Chicken fat 32%

    Margarine 19%

    Soybean oil 15%

    Olive oil 14%

    Sunflower oil 11%

    Safflower oil 10%

Best to avoid animal fats then.

    Bloody hell!

That's interesting. Don't think I've ever had coconut oil (don't know what it's used for) but I know I'll be avoiding it from now on.

    RE: DO THE ATKINS DIET.

But doesn't that diet make the body consume itself?

Personally I believe the safest way to lose weight is a combination of eating a little less and exercising a bit more.
