I don't think we would have been in the top 6 mate. As good as we'd been we'd won only game against all of the top 6 plus Fulham, who look like being in there at Wednesdays expense.

I think we would have definitely had a few more points than we have, but would have fallen short.

Agree with that. There are always arguments about being easily pleased v wanting continual progression, but let's not forget that it took a relegation and a fresh start to get us to where we are.

Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forward.

Accepting that isn't being grateful for our position, it's just the reality of being a football club.

It's the never knowing figures that erks me. And I would guess quite a few.

It might be more palatable if we knew we got decent amounts.

Winnall is anything from 500k to 2.5 million depending who is saying it.

So I would guess everyone would be OK with 2.5 million. But not 500k.

All we have are constant arguments of people who are in the know when they can't all clearly know as they all say different amounts.

Same with the other 2 who left.

I can see both sides myself and it's undeniably difficult knowing when to stick or twist.

I think we have an absolutely massive rebuilding job to do in the summer and it will only be this time next year that we start to see if we have made any real progress and if the 'grand plan' is working. I'd see us pretty much starting from scratch as we did when we got relegated into L1 and it won't be easy.

What i'd say is that being pleased with narrowly avoiding relegation and having little or no expectations definitely contributed to our eventual relegation last time and by the end it felt more of a relief than a disaster. We can't let that happen again it's just too demoralising.

    Absolutely this.

Whatever's happened this season, we HAVE to rebuild in the summer with a view to not only surviving, but thriving. As long as we give it a go and there's clear intention this summer that we're building a team to thrive, I can accept our fortunes whatever they may be.

If we go down the route of previous summers in this division, there will only be one outcome.
