If you look at the players we have brought in this summer there are a few that I think look excellent signings: Pinnock, Lindsay, McCarthy, Isgrove, Cavare A few jury is out on: Potts, Thiam, Mallan, Pearson, McGeehan, all of whom I think are progressing, but are not the finished article. Players from last year that have improved: Bradshaw & Jackson Disappointments this season: Davies, Moncur, McDonald & to some extent Yiadom, who I expect to leave in the window, unless his latest injury prevents it. Adam Hammill gives his all, but is very average at this level. Love his commitment & he deserves to get a start most of the time. Loanees are a problem. Williams is a quality player, but too much is being asked of him. Fryers too, to some extent. There is a player in there, but he should not be starting every week.He looked good at first, but teams are working out how to play him. We've lost our most creative player in Barnes. Ugbo was out of his depth. Overall this is not a disaster & a few in will make a big difference. I'd like to see some competition for Davies. He is as good a keeper as we could hope for, but we need to have someone pushing him & be able to give him a rest. If we can get someone in the middle of the park to boss the game & a couple up front I think we'll be fine this season. Maybe another loanee or two for the wide positions.
