Good luck to him - didn’t blame him for going to Leeds - he was one hammering from the sack here. The January disaster seemed to make him lose heart and I don’t think he ever recovered. Always a red for me
Hecky got us promoted and comfortably kept us in the Championship- Stendel has yet to do either of those things.
If hecky had been our manager this season and the cards stendel has been dealt imo we wouldn't have seen the exciting football we have we would be out of the play offs hoofing the ball to Woodrow hecky blaming the players the fans blaming the board.
I’m a fan. Still feel some scars for that Leeds moment but he gave me some of the best moments as a Reds fan in nearly 50 (******!! 50!! ) so good luck to the Lad.
I said the fans would blame the board because in some people's eyes hecky could do no wrong. Stendel has got the best out of mowatt, pinnock and mcgeehan 3 players hecky failed to get anything out of.
I loved his time here, I really did. Gave us the best times of the last 15 years. My comment is praise for Stendel, not criticism of Hecky. I absolutely love Stendel. Just something about him that just oozes class, confidence and passion. I genuinely think Stendel is my favourite Barnsley Manager. Hyperbolic, I acknowledge, and he’s yet to prove himself, but I think he’ll end up at the very top of the game. I’m actually tempted to stick a bet on him managing the German national team one day.
In a division lower. Pretty sure people were raving about Pinnock last season. As for McGeehan, he was abysmal early doors and has returned to his poor form since his suspension. The fans were right to blame the board (if you can call it that) but I think that one has been done to death.
There’s no denying he could motivate the players. From the time he took over in the first division I had confidence when they came out we would win the game . The intensity of our attack to the belief in the players was electrifying. The way we just steamrolled teams and I had no doubt we would win in the playoff even prediction with belief the final score. The two games against Walsall where the team and the fans were almost as one . The first half of the Championship were unexpectedly brilliant imo I always thought we’d hold our own but it went further. That Season in January killed our team and Hecky never recovered and although the motivation was there sadly the belief and skill just wasn’t . I was as angry at the next man when Leeds came calling but I’ll tske nothing away from his first 18 months in charge it was great being a Red,
Can't say that I've ever heard Stendel explain our tactics in depth. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Hecky apparently getting ready to repeat the blueprint he used at Barnsley with Hibs next season. Can't believe we didn't manage to persuade " Josh Brownsville" to stay with us.!!!! http://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2019/...rpool-rangers-stephane-omeonga-transfer-news/
as having a like to celtic for obvious reasons, some old firm teams fear hibernian now for next season with him in charge. he will recruit well. they are playing well and its not his squad. they are not lanes behind if you look at there form since january.
