It's a bit like the sad acts on here that have an issue with us having foreign owners and a foreign manager. Questioning their motives just because they aren't local.

This is a local club for local people, there’s nothing for them here!

I wouldn't of approached him while he was spending time with his family to ask about bfc tbh. He did well for us untill winnall and Conor were sold. But it makes me laugh when people say he told us all his preferred system ect ( I think they mean 442) thing is he took over jonos team which was already playing 442 after Conor and Sam went he hardly ever played 442 for the rest of the season, he then brought in umpteen midfielders and continued with one upfront, he then went to Leeds and played 442 on one occasion against Bolton according to my mate who is a Leeds season ticket holder.

Really? Still think he signed them even after he complained about getting all of them whilst he was still here?

As for one up front, I suppose it was his fault the mcburnie deal didn’t go through and Ike Ugbo was woeful?

Bitterness leads to short memories and distorted views.

Heckingbottom wasn’t doing a particularly great job I’ll grant - but I defy anyone to suggest that we’d have gone down had he stayed.

I strongly suspect he felt hugely let down by the club, and the offer of a another job on a much higher wage was too good to refuse even though it was a basket case club who were bound to get shot of him very quickly.

As I say, he wasn’t pulling trees up, I’d not be in any rush to have him back, but I’m not in this ridiculous camp that wants to throw all blame on to his doorstep, or start calling him judas.

    Folk ought to grow up.

And if he’s swimming with his family, obviously it’s right to just leave him be.

As I understand the recruitment process works by the head coach saying what type of player he wants the spreadsheet then highlights so many said players based on stats and the head coach has the final say. Looked to me like he signed midfielders with goals in them in order to play 451. How do you know he wouldn't of used mcburnie as the lone striker?
I'm not bitter at all I'm just not letting sentiment get in the way of fact, by the way I said leave him alone when he is swimming ect.

So on that score then - Burnley are a smaller and less attractive club for players and advertisers than Sheffield Wednesday ???

Still seems fine to want him to fail and gloat in the fact that he has done.

He was pretty vocal about how he didn't want players to use our club as a stepping stone, then went and did it himself.

We all know he probably felt the writing was on the wall with us, so went and got himself a pay off. Fine, the guys got a family to feed etc etc.

Doesn't mean any of our fans are 'saddo's for somewhat reveling in his fall from grace.

Yeah, it sort of does. He left a football club. It's not a crime.

Isn`t the stepping stone how he sold the club to most of the players in the first place.

Not a crime to want to see someone fail either is it?

No, but it's pretty sad and small minded in these circumstances. My opinion of course but there ye go.

Err no, because they get a tonne of money from Sky TV rights and are in Europe (so assuming theyll have money from that too)????

Football related revenue is completely different to the wealth attained from our owners' business interests - I really don't understand why you don't get that despite many, many people telling you this!!

Sure, we're all entitled to opinions, i'll respectfully disagree with you on this one though.

Its nothing personal against Hecky. He's in the same boat as Winnall for me. I despise them both given how they went about leaving the club and am happy to admit it.

Now if i was to go around cursing them on a daily basis that would be a different matter and agree that would be sad as f***.

It’s all about players. You’re making the mistake of saying ‘he brought in’. He sat in press conferences last summer & repeatedly said he wanted to bring in strikers & central midfielders so that we could play 4-4-2 but didn’t get them. He said he liked his strikers to press & be able to rotate them after 65-70 minutes which had worked so well before he lost half his team.

He hardly ever played 4-4-2 after Winnall went because we were down to just 3 strikers, or even 2 if you class Watkins as a winger, would’ve left you with no options off the bench.

I don’t know anything about Leeds to comment, did they have 4 strikers? Or had the previous manager built the squad to play a system with only one forward? I know they only played 1 at our place
