I don't agree with you about Muller making every save look difficult.

If you were his hight and shape some saves would obviously look difficult because for example, a low shot at his right hand post is harder for him to save than a shot 7 foot off the ground.

In over 45 years he's the best keeper I have seen playing for the reds and we have had a few good ones.

    good comedy value.

Once saw the ball go on top of some bogs at Swindon. Got stuck. No one knew what to do, so Butler raced off the pitch, into the crowd, jumped up on to the bog roof and retrieved the ball.

    Genius.

Think Swindon were on hard times, only one match ball and Butler got it back for them.

And I thought that Mullers communication with his defence was awful on Saturday

Players attempting to leave the ball for him and him not coming for it, or a pass back to the side when muller had gone central, him coming and them not leaving it for him etc. Worst Barnsley match for communication between keeper and defence that i've seen for a long time.

I agree, he makes a lot (not all) of his saves look spectacular, he often does this by staying upright late then diving and stretching low with one hand while raising the other in the air. This makes his save look like a really quick reaction save that was hard to reach when most other keepers would have palmed it away (or even caught it) using both hands. Reaching down with one whilst keeping the other up makes it look further away from him.

Same when there's a high ball, most keepers would comfortably catch it, but not our heinz, he prefers the big fancy jump and punch, it looks better, or if it is high going towards the net then maybe a nice long wait then a dive backwards flicking it over the bar with one finger tip when he could have jumped and covered it quite easily.

A great player but not the god that he is made out to be.

That happens all the time in matches

remember Grobellar in the cup final some years back taking a swing at a Liverpool defender? It will never happen that a defence and goalkeeper get everything right.

I'm talking about letting his defence know what he wants at corners, free kicks etc. A keeper sees the whole of the game, and can inform his teammates. Muller is more vocal than Steele.
