How can they be classed as a part of a fire sale if they have been offered a contract ? you will have to explain that one to me although I am classed as stupid for buying a season ticket to watch division one football by another poster .
At a time when we had cash in the bank, which strengthened our position, and other clubs were still spending big pre-covid and before ffp sanctions were due.
You’ve refused to buy a season ticket, but you expect the board to spend literally millions of pounds of their own money?
i guess its no different to the club owners expecting fans to spend their money while at the same time refusing to invest any of their own. This is whats switched a lot of fans off especially as fans at least have been paying for years and years while the recent ownership have only took money out.
Tbf to him, we all paid out during Lockdown to "keep the club afloat" whilst our "Billionaire" owners didn't do owt.
It's often said on here.... "It's easier to spend other people's money" Yes it is. See Conway's antics which wiped out the safety net we had. Add to that, it's not clear if 1 million has been injected as share capital or a loan and indeed if it has been injected. So some of us (not all it has to be said) are still... "Actions speak louder than words" I'd rather not have fans start splitting in 2 "Tory style" and start slinging darts at the ones who are not yet going.
Spot on. We'll know unequivocally at 11pm tonight. I suspect I've been right about them all along mate.
I’m totally sympathetic to why fans might have switched off. Totally their choice. Less sympathetic to those who switch off but remain the biggest critics. If you’re switching off, switch off. If I cancel my gym membership, I wouldn’t then spend the next 12 months virulently attacking the gym at every turn.
I've had one for the last 18 seasons pal and since these clowns bought us they have not put one penny in, but took money out! They have lost millions due to their incompetence . There's 3500 other fans not bought a season ticket either . Do they not have a say ? This board is failing the fans daily and putting the club in risk of dropping back down to the 4th division. They brought the right man eventually but they are not backing him. We all know what happens because if that .
I wouldn't say they are not exactly backing him. I do think that he might not have been aware of the scale of the problem. Aware we had issues yes, but how much I'm not so sure. It can't all happen over night, and will take time. We are not exactly a patient bunch, but we can forgive if things get going. I'd guess we won't likely know until tomorrow how we might be able to see how short term things can alter, but definitely at the end of January's window. Hopefully between windows they can then concentrate on some fan ideas. But priority 1 has to be sort finances. 2 the team. I'm as critical of the set up as others, but recognise the mess that Conway has left
Tb f that is how business works. You invest to make your product as attractive as possible so that people buy it.
Read that Helik has been seen at the HTFC training ground along with a young centre half from Man City (Mbete). Could be BS but we'll see come 11pm.
We could have sold 20 thousand season tickets and the owners would be doing exactly the same. It may have surprised the owners that this is a football club you have to spend money to make money. We would be alot better off if I bloody owned the club. I have no money and come out and say that the club is going to be self sustainable. Would that be different, I know that for some people this board can do no wrong but we still don't know who the hell actually owns us, who does JAQ represent. Who was Paul Conway acting on the behalf of, why all the cloak and dagger.
