We haven't signed Sonko and if we do for some reason Pep is only looking at signing him short term. You know nothing about Silva and cannot say he is an improvement - admittedly it is hard to see how he could make the squad worse but let's see how he gets on in his first dozen games. Nigel Clough's comments on Cywka are also slightly worrying but we have to give him the benefit of the doubt, but Pep can't be overly convinced if he has only given him a one year deal. Etuhu - God alone knows what's going to happen there. I'll agree on Mellis though - I think he will end up being a better player than Butterfield.

As Danny would say "at this moment in time" we have made no improvements to a woeful defence and our striking options are laughable. If we're playing 4-4-2 I'd say we're six players away from a good side.

I can't believe we are looking at Sonko. He was a donkey at oakwell last year, and nearly everytime I saw Ipswich highlights he was laughable. If you can find Leeds v Ipswich from last season. My brother is an Ipswich fan and he slated him every game and is now laughing that we want him!!

We're looking at recruiting a new striker before the weekend. Id rather we didn't rush, and go with what we've got at the weekend and then sign someone half decent next week.

And besides Dagnall isn't our 2nd best striker, Rose is.

The same Sonko who has played over 300 games mainly at Championship and Premiership level.Seems to me to be a tough no nonsense defender that would be a great addition to our squad, assuming he signs.

No, Dagnall is our best striker

Craig Davies plays on the right wing, apparently.

Re: Don't think you'd be mental to think otherwise

True mate, true. We live in hope. Can't help but think that times have changed. This league is turning into Prem Div 2 these days and we just do not have the money to compete. I don't think we have helped ourselves by not getting contractual negotiations right which has resulted in us having a pitiful budget in comparison to the rest of the league; we could have had a relatively reasonable budget and given ourselves a chance if things were handled well but they weren't, sadly. £500k for Vaz Te and about £1m for Butterfield, what a fcking disgrace.

I think Keith Hill is a decent manager. If he keeps us up, he has worked a minor miracle.

I'll be there next season but I am fearing the worst and find it utterly frustrating, because it will be self inflicted.
