That's a bit harsh on Connell.

I think Cole and Williams are still trying. I think herbie is going through the motions and I can't make my mind up if styles is or he just isn't very good.

I would put them 3rd and 4th in the not trying front defo. We have a policy that just doesn't work as in you will be sold if you don't sign a contract extension but then only apply that to certain players, its bound to cause unrest. A gun was put to Styles head before he was aloud to go to Millwall which would have been fine if they had signed him permanent but they didn't,now he is here sulking and stinking the place out.

Extremely disappointing interview, does absolutely nothing to help the current situation, just makes it worse by speculation about him not caring and wanting out. Terrible decision to let him do it.

He wants fining a weeks wages, & dropping on Saturday & for the foreseeable until he apologises. Until then play people who want to play for the club. Herbie Kane is a loser, will be glad when we’re well rid. The same goes for Styles.

No player ‘wants’ to be here. It’s a job. They all hope for a better offer. They all would take a better offer. That’s perfectly acceptable and normal.

He’s done a few good things for us. The outside of the boot pass to Kitching for his goal against Port Vale was actually a forward pass, so he can do it. A goal last season from outside the box away at Cheltenham was another. The trouble is these highlights are rare and he is the one I find myself screaming at most out of sheer frustration. I don’t mind if I never see him picked again and it would be great if someone gave us money for him in January.

Does anyone really care whether our central midfielder is a charismatic bloke? I don't give a flying turd. All I want is competence. I'd go and see Kevin Bridges if I wanted a laugh.

CAVEAT - I know he's not been playing well, but the point stands. Or maybe we give Bridges a shirt.

Kane, Styles, Williams, may all have very high opinions of themselves and believe they should be playing at a higher level, unfortunately for all of them, no one has agreed with that opinion enough to offer their current employer any money in atleast 2 windows, so they may have to get their heads round staying put for a while yet.

Fair enough. But based on that interview, no prospective employer would touch him in a million years.

As far as I'm aware the club hasn't actually offered him a contract. If they had and he'd turned it down then fair game but as they haven't he's looking at not knowing where he'll be working in six months time. Think I was hardly cracking jokes and rolling around on the floor laughing last time I was in a similar employment situation.

Add that to the fact that he clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the box by a long way and I think that people are jumping on the condemnation bandwagon somewhat unjustly. The only real sensible comments are those that are asking wtf the club were doing putting him up for interview in the first place.

Been our best outfield performer over the whole season so far bar Cole and has played almost every minute he's been available for so clearly hasn't shirked anything. Yes, he's dropped a bit recently but that's in common with the whole team, imho driven by the fact that since Roberts' injury there is a glaring and worrying realisation that our defence is totally inadequate and can give a goal away at any moment. Moreover there's no doubt that in the all too brief periods Collins has used the Connell-Kane / McAtee / Cole-Cosgrove front five in a 2-1-2 it has worked and if available ought to be our go to for the foreseeable.

And are we really condemning someone for wanting to 'work' at the highest level they can? Which other footballer doesn't? I tell you what I'd be more worried if we had players who having only just turned 25 actually aspired to spend all the rest of their careers at mid-table League 1 level!

That's it for me. If he was as good as he thinks he is he would be some player. Just not enough goals or assists for an attacking player. When last season when he played better still made no real impact in terms of goals or assists. Phillips did more in a 20 match purple streak then Kane has since he joined.
