I think that Benson's performances last season were symptomatic of our general problem - under too much pressure from poor results, leading to loss of confidence, which in turn isn't helped by not having many years of experience. I would wager that Benson will come good. He has good skills on the ball and, from what I have seen of him in his better games, he has a good footballing brain, which not every player has. I trust Duff to get him ticking again along the right lines, but we'll see. I have always though of Kane as the new Ray McHale, who can run a game from centre midfield. I think that he got lost in the Ismael route one game, but, presuming that we do get the ball down on the deck again this season, I would expect him to come good again. He did well on loan at Doncaster and, let's not forget, at Hull in the championship. There were games away at Birmingham City and at home to Middlesbrough in which Kane was just outstanding, so he has the potential. We need to slim down the squad and give players like Benson and Kane the game-time and role which will show their real worth. Coyr

I'd like to know where the information comes from. Lots of players move to Barnsley and many have stayed. Even returned at the end of their careers.
    To name a few towns/villages.
    Hoyland
    Darfield
    Silkstone
    Silkstone common
    Oxspring
    Wooley Grange.
    Town.

Possibly back in light training only given he is on the way back from injury

He was specifically asked about Benson because he knew him from Burnley. He's not going to say anything other than he has quality is he? You listen to enough podcasts and football speak to know the score.

He was on the pictures from last weeks training that's all. Plus there were clips of Helik and Jordan Williams doing light stuff.

They all have some potential to do well at L1 level. I suspect not all will cut the mustard, but have hopes for Kane & Aitchison in particular. There is a player in Thomas, if he can be used effectively in a wide role, but if we play 3-5-2, I'm not sure that there is. Benson looked hopeless last season, after one or two promising early fixtures. If it was a confidence issue then maybe we'll see a different player. Who knows?

You are confusing me with John Peachey. Easy mistake to make TBH. We both wear a-line flares & have a tash.... I moved out of Barnsley for Leeds in the late 80's.

Wakefield area used to be fairly popular around the time of Paul Reid who rented in Wakey and subsequently bought one which he retained and rented out for many years .
He sold it about 4 yrs ago

Hence i said players. Haven't a clue where managers holed up for definite. But I reckon as they didn't bring families with them. Most were staying in the Glasshouse complex. I do know Khaled was/is looking to move his family to the area.
    All Dismissing Dreamboys assumption.
I reckon enough posters have provided enough evidence to suggest otherwise.

He used to play for Liverpool you know. Clearly you’ve forgot.
