5 assists 4 goals in 21 games that's almost a direct goal involvement every other game.

9 goals in 3.5 years. 17 assists in the same period. Not really good enough for a creative attacking midfielder. Though better this season. Phillips contributed more in a 20 game period last season.

I thought you didn’t count penalties as goals anyway

I agree entirely, and I think it goes without saying regarding Connell.

I rate Phillips as a center midfielder, I also rate kane regardless of other people's opinions. I only made this thread as styles got one last week for his pass into space so I only thought it was right to highlight kanes inch perfect pass yesterday. The center midfield picks itself fot me connell Phillips and kane hopefully we keep all 3 for the full season.

Definitely agree with the interviews. I’ve seen some pre-season interviews from him before and even they weren’t great. I guess it’s just not his thing. Like you say, probably shouldn’t be doing them anymore.

I also get frustrated with him sometimes but more so with him not being adventurous enough on occasion. I know there’s the argument about having movement off the ball ahead of him but I feel like sometimes he plays the easy ball back to a centre half instead of a more progressive ball.

Him and macatee made the league one team of the week from yesterday with stats from whoscored.com. interesting he has the best average rating out of any barnsley midfielder this season on whoscored.com.

I don't rate De Gevigney anything like as highly as the other three you mention.

No, that's fair enough. He has the rawness that you would expect from someone who has come from the level he has. And Lord is he slow. But for his size (tiny for a centre back) he is tough and streetwise and he wins the ball high up the pitch. He's learning on the job and in the meantime we will undoubtedly make a profit on him, which is the whole raison d'etre of this regime.

    And he's better than Kane

it was Herbie's anticipation that made the goal. Watch where Philips is as the ball leaves Herbie's foot

De Gevigney may go on to have a good career, but I don't see him as a centre-back. As you acknowledge, he's not very big, for one thing. We need someone who is big and strong and wins all the headers.

Comparing de gevigney to kane is a strange one when one's a central midfielder and the other a center back.
