People from Barnsley will always bring the srike up when playing Forest, as it caused that much ill feeling due to what the Notts miners did. Some of the Forest fans also seem to take delight in bringing it up when they come to Oakwell. That doesn't excuse the chant you mentioned though, but no way do i think we have a problem with racism amongst our fans. That's my opinion based on what i've seen and heard at matches.

I think if he was 14/15 you'd be right. Any scout watching him at youth level would be interested in his athleticism and power. But unfortunately I fear the ship has sailed. He looks like he's just learned how to play the game a week ago. There will always be glimpses of excitement with someone with his attributes but there will also predominantly be utter dross.

Hope you're right though. He deserves a break and I hope a lower league club takes him and he bangs in a few.

I've not seen him hit a shot with power yet and not seen him out muscle a defender. The only strength he seems to have is in standing back up after once again being knocked to the floor by a 5'3" full back who looked at him the wrong way

Threw Hypia, Carragher, Terry and Carvalho all over last season, just couldn't do it regularly. He's outmuscled centre halves all the time he's been here, just couldn't match the hard work with an accomplished finish.

Agree though he showed plenty of examples of power and strength. He'd be a cracking prospect.....if he was 10.

Therein lies the problem - he isn't a raw youngster, he should be in his prime form at the moment - as much as I've willed him to come good and develop ( despite being strongly racist) it must surely be getting to the time where we have to accept he's not up to the level of football that we as a club need to be aspiring to. Keep him if we get relegated, cos he'll knock League 1 defenders all over.

Not for me. I think it's very tempting for managers to think teams need to adapt to the division they are in. I'd be much happier starting a League 1 season (heaven forbid) with Macken and a n other (Hume perhaps) who really ought to be too good at that level.

Let's not forget Nardiello, Hayes et al got us out of that division. Not exactly powerhouses. Quality over carthorses every day, every division for me.

Anyway...not gonna happen anyway is it? We'll piss safety this year. Oh yes.

To be fair i think there's a degree of truth in that statement

Firstly i would say that its in no way the people who don't think he is good enough at this level. i don't think he is either. BUT there are lots of players over the years in the same bracket who haven't recieved aything like the abuse Odejayi gets. Far enough if he isn't good enough but some of the abuse he has recieved at games and on this board is way out of order. Anyone would think he eats children.
