He's earned whatever he needs for as long as he wants it. Consistency is key. Third season for a lot of these players. We'll start seeing results.
It's fantastic news. The securing of Flicker alongside Mellon and Scott gives me every confidence that, for the first time since we've come back to the second tier, we'll not be in a relegation scrap. The positive knock-on effect is that those players offered contracts earlier this week will surely be encouraged to stay, and prospective signings will look at what the whole team (management and players) has achieved this calendar year and potentially be enticed to join us. This doesn't mean, of course, that 'big names' will suddenly be wanting to come to Oakwell, but this is not a problem. The 'lower league' player issue has been well and truly put to bed and I can't wait to see which lower league gems Flicker manages to deliver.
Now all we need is for Jason Scotland to have a swan song season and score goals for fun; converting 0-1's into 1-1's and 0-0's into 1-0's a la SJH.
