Thinking about it, it might well have been 16-0 - rings a bell now.

I think it might have been when Wakefield trinity wildcats played on it.

I think it was Acre of Hearts and we beat them 10 - 2

    Barnsley 8 Fulham 4

    Absolutely shocking. Letting 4 in.

I certainly hope that Barnsley team were repremanded and fined for such an inept performance.

When I was living in Australia I saw Australia beat American Sampa 31-0 it was pretty surreal.

I remember attending a reserve game v Man Utd. Reserves in the Central League when I was a young boy, which we lost 11-5. We were 7-3 down at half-time. I was also present at the relatively low-scoring game v Man Utd Reserves in 1958, just before the Munich air crash, when we won 6-5. This was after our being 5-1 up at half-time and then 6-1 up, before a United side including several first teamers, such as wingers Johnny Berry and David Pegg, decided to start trying. They pulled it back to 6-5, but the Reds hung on for a victory.

The documentary about the American Samoa team is worth a watch if you haven't seen it. It's about how they picked themselves up after that defeat in an attempt to win a game, something they hadn't done since 1989 I believe.

I think it's called 'next goal wins', and was available on Netflix a while ago.

Incredible not just for the result, but for the fact that Malta has three divisions!

I bet his knees are knackered like mine and anyone else's who played football. Knees just don't work for sport. Happy days back then though, winning most games by double figures. If we'd internet back then, I could have leant on the goal post and messed about on here and on Farcebook during games.
