robins wouldt have kept us up with this budget so i say give him another pre-season and 12 games to prove his worth next season. They will have learnt a lot this season and hopefuly so will the players hes fetched in. Hes kept us up (just) so he deserves a chance.
No, he has to stay. Not because I think he is a good manager or he will be any better next season. Its just I cant think of anyone that could come in and do anything with these players that we have been saddled with. I dont go with all the bull about having no money, he has signed 20 players , thats 20 players that all will have had a signing on fee, agents fees etc. plus wages , anyone that thinks these players have come for nowt are deluded. Hope to God he stops with the ****ing moaning now as well!
lets see how far he progresses after 10 matches. will the players mature into championship stalwarts. missed out on la fondra ,billy of sharp ness in past years. craig of davies may show some maturity but i think there's more to come from RNL and others forcing there way into team
I dont think he will Mario, he thinks he has done a great job this season, he knew we had no money , yet has continually moaned about it for months.
No, I believe we need to just get the season over with, go on a big ish holiday, recharge, do some thorough scouring of players, get rid of the dead wood, ie. Gray, Doyle, Foster, McEvely etc. I fully trust Hill, he just needs the off season to reflect on everything that has occurred this season, the good and the bad and the very ugly. While Hill, and the players are doing that, we the Supporters need to group together, and support our club equally!
No I think he's the worst manager we've had in my lifetime. Absolutely terrible without any redeeming features. And I don't like him as a person. In fact, I think he's a complete lovely person. But I'm so embarrassed by how quickly we've sacked managers in the past that I don't want us to go down that route again. We'll go down next season anyway if we brought someone else in as the quality of the squad is so poor.
Nope, will bring success if given time. Disappointing end to the season, but seen enough positves to believe he'll turn it around. Plus, as others have mentioned, changing managers every 5 minutes all but guarantees long term failure. That said, I would like to see some positivitey from the management team (no more banging on about how great it is just to survive, even if true. We need to dream of more than that). There's enough negative bu**ers on here, without the management joining in.
YES - He has to go!! What is it 3 wins in 14??? How many goals we scored this year is it 4? Worst manager in our history FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a chance. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. He has my full backing. It's about time some 'supporters' actually did some 'supporting'.
Hill is the best manager we have had in years, it's his backing and people around him that needs to be changed....AND FAST
No. Hill/Flitcroft have the potential to become the one of the best managerial appointments since Danny. I'm genuinely looking forward to next season - got my ticket last week.
A definite no. Not only am I fed up with the speed at which clubs (and us in particular) change managers, but I think he has done a decent job. I don't subscribe to this 'lower league rubbish' cliche that some of the chumps on here bang on about (thankfully there's the 'ignore' button, which makes this board a far better, if somewhat shorter, read!). The deadwood that needs to be cleared out all came from our level, although I am shuddering at a couple of the players who have had new contract offers. Dawson, McNulty, Perkins, Davies, Higginbottom, Goldbourne, Done and Collins all look decent to me. And they didn't cost much and won't be on big wages. More than that though, they have also, along with longer term players such as Hassell, O'Brien and Steele, become players I can actually identify with. I lost that when we went into admin with mercenaries like Mike Sheron and I never thought I'd get it back. Hopefully we can clear out some of the players that are past their best (I'd only retain O'Brien of the ones out of contract, as it is very unlikely Butterfield will stay) and make a couple of decent additions (central defence and a midfielder to link up with the strikers are a must) so we can have a crack at moving forward next season. I think the past few months have humbled Hill and he has thankfully lost a lot of the arrogance that put me off him earlier in the season. I think he'll be a better manager for it, particularly if he has our support.
