Did we get a refund when they appointed Morais?

I really don’t get some folk on here at times.

A majority of posters have said they would like a manager with experience, who knows league one and the championship.

Ian Holloway ticks those boxes and somebody of his ilk would be good.

I’m not saying he’d be my first choice, nor do I think that the club would appoint him or that he’d want to come here. But it wouldn’t be so bad a choice.

Similarly, there’s some that want younger, up and coming managers with some success at perhaps a lower level, yet Jack Ross and Danny Cowley are dismissed as options by some.

Ross had done brilliantly at st mirren, ok in the Scottish championship, but looks set to get the Ipswich job - one who most in football would say is a bigger job than ours.

Cowley took a non league team to the fa cup quarter final, beating premier league and championship sides, and also got it promoted back to the football league; both in the same season - his first season there - and might well get it promoted again to league one, though regardless got that side into the playoffs in its first season back in the league.

We’d be fortunate to get any of those names yet folk aren’t happy at the suggestion of anyone, I’m sure some will moan if it is anybody except Mick McCarthy. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love big Mick, but if he wasn’t from the town and had the history with the club many years ago nobody would be clamouring as strongly, and we’ve gone down the ‘one of our own’ road before. Not guaranteed to succeed as some suggest. I also don’t think he wants it.

We will see, but in short there are a good number of names who I feel would do a job for us, and I’ll not be throwing my toys out of the pram if it isn’t my particular choice.

If we get another bizarre, left-field Morais type appointment, then we can complain.
