    You could be right

My point was it was presented as a "fact" but really none of us knows.

I think most clubs will start the season under strength, as it does seem that the market is slow generally and not just for us.

Keane is a lovely person though, I'm sure nobody wants to play for that fcuker!

In all honesty SM, I'm not sat shaking my fist at the screen due to the lack of activity, but I'd say right now, on paper, we're not as strong as we were last season (strong being used in the loosest sense of the word obviously). However, if whatever team we have, go into the first game brimming with confidence, our season could get off to a good start.

If we are humiliated tomorrow and I don't mean losing by an odd goal, I mean spanked, I'll be more concerned.

    Hold your nerve

I think this could well be the start of some realism entering football finances. I wonder how many agents are telling their clients not to panic and that they will get that magical offer before next Saturday? I reckon next Thursday/Friday will be the busiest period of transfer activity we've seen for some time.

Im disappointed that we havent strengthened

and Im certain both Davey and Cryne are aware of the importance of getting those 3 or 4 signatures done and dusted. But so is every club in the Championship, bar maybe Forest and the Blades. I hope it all comes together at the last minute, and then maybe we have players on the pitch that know they are playing for their places due to others joining.

Im off to the Man City game, dont normally do pre season but due to the generosity of the club, thought why not. I'll give you my honest opinion next week.

There's an outside chance I might be at the Reading game. Is it at Wembley?

If Keane pays 1 million pounds for Priskin from Watford

Then that shows you how slow the transfer market is, and how right Davey is to play the waiting game rather than spending money on any old garbage.

I bet Forest have doubled their wage bill

signing the players as they have, no doubt paid top whack for every one. Billy Davies does that where ever he goes. And some on here thought he was a realistic option for us!

If Forest start badly panic will defnitely set in

Be interesting to see how many season tickets they've sold on the back of their spending spree.

Bristol City's wage bill has to be more than last season as well.

If we can pull the 3-4 quality signings out of the bag next week, we'll definitely be aiming to finish outside the bottom 6-8, I've no doubt about that. Hammill, Gray, Adranik really are championship quality. Even Peterborough are taking gambles on lower league players for lots of money, they could be in for a hard season along with Blackpool, Plymouth, Scnuthorpe, Doncaster, Ipswich, Leicester, Newcastle, Wednesday, Derby, Palace, Coventry and Watford.

If Davey gets this next batch of signings right we might just be in for a decent season - nothing to be scared of in this league.
