    Yes.

But I don't think he'll have played at Championship level or above.

    OK

McCann did not win us the Ipswich game nor did he have a good game on Saturday.

One game is sufficient to judge the ability of a player

A squad with no real competition for places or backup is better than one with.

    TFP school of I'm right.

    oh and that team spirit

is that the one that could not win a home game between february and September or the one that lost 9 away games on the bounce.

    RE: OK

If Ritchie had signed the ***** we have brought since he left , he would have gotten hammered by the Ritchie Out squad for signing any old crap.

RE: what are the chances of signing eckersley on a permanent?

It may depend on whether Man Utd sign Gareth Bale.

If they do they will have Bale, Evra, Heinze and Silvestre for left back.

Eckersley will then be 4th choice at best but possibly 5th choice.

He would IMO be a good signing.

    I think we will

and whoever it is/they are or whatever team he has/they have come from some won't think he's/they're any good.

You fail to understand what I was saying.

"A squad with no real competition for places or backup is better than one with".
I agree with what you are trying to say.
I said we needed at least 5 "Championship standard players" before the season started - otherwise we'd go down.
You are correct - we need competition ... but a contest between two spackers ultimately leads to a spacker winning.
I honestly don't think we've improved the quality of the team ... we've obviously got a better squad - as we've signed a bunch of people who are better than our reserves ... but, arguably, the team is worse after the departure of McIndoe.

I also think McCann will end up being half decent.
But by the time he finds his feet in this division - we'll already be down.
I've also seen him play a fair few times now.
I've also seen Mattis four or five times.
I've seen Leon Knight play in the Championshipo many, many fruitless times.

I do admire your blind optimism though.
    It's great.

BTW what are you tring to say?

Do you honestly think AR would have turned it around and done better than Davey without bringing in any players?

If Keogh is going for 850k how on earth are we going to be signing the quality of which you speak?

If you concede that we cannot compete with sums of money such as that do you think that having only 11 players of sufficient standard (mostly league 1 and 2 improvers to start with) was the wisest6 approach to surviving in this Division?

PS can I have your Mattis Dossier? I would be interested in your foresight in having such a player closely watched!

Will we sign someone between now and then? Maybe.

Will we make signings that justify sacking AR for (on the basis of not signing players)
    and/or are 'box office'
and/or are the experienced Championship level players we require
and/or would justify GS' claims of ambition for the club?

Highly doubtful. I look forward to being proved wrong.

Yes there will be additions before wednesdays Deadline

My guess that things are going on behind the scenes. would not blame them if the announcement was made after the 'done deal' and not before a deal as they did for Constantine.
