He's young, he's improving all the time, he as 50 games under his belt already, and I think he's coped really well this season in the championship. He as the potential to go far in the game, but he needs to keep playing games and improving, he's at the right club for his career at the moment, he would be a silly billy to leave Barnsley to play under 23s football for some premier league team.
No of course they won't all leave at the same time. All I'm saying is that if someone becomes available who in future could replace Winnall for example it wouldn't be a bad thing to sign them now
Bradshaw for one will have been brought in to replace/succeed Winnall, I'm sure there's plenty others the point is, it would alot more intelligent to sign the replacements for the players when we know they are leaving, get the targets ready by all means, but stockpiling players for eventualities will just cost money and leave alot of players annoyed at lack of play time
On the other hand, we're shopping in the lower leagues for young players that's our strategy, four months training with Hourihane & Winnall and being brought through gradually before they replace them could be really beneficial to anyone we sign.
No we don't want to stockpile but for example we could do with more central midfielders so if we could sign one who is a similar player to Hourihane and could replace him in the future that would be ideal
Some do of course but I think a lot of the deals that will benefit the clubs are done on very low cost. I'd imagine the likes of Brown and Palmer at Huddersfield will be costing them less than Barnsley pay Winnall or Hammill say a month.
If Browns not an England International then Mourinho said he would have failed. Now he's not Chelsea manager anymore. Jose doesn't want to fail ever, so for him to make that comment then he must be good. Winnall's played ever for England? and AH once at u21 level.
Agree that we need to do business. Get the lads out of contract to sign up and I'll be as happy as larry
For me it should have been done in the summer. Signed up or gone for me. Last week some on here were calling a guy arrogant that would talk to contract club, some of ours won't do that.
When did Brown make his full England debut I must have missed that.... You are mistaking potential for the realisation of that potential. One day both might be better than our players. Here today they are not.
If they are any good then clubs will come and get them. It's been said a million times but Stones was months into a 3 year deal when he joined Everton.
Without knowing what individuals get , Huddersfields wage bill is 2-3x ours , £13.3 million in their last accounts , ours was £4.4 last season and £7.7m in our last Championship season .
