when the premier league beats the primera league

our own status is enhanced in world football. I hope we win on a England v Spain basis. I don't consider Man U a rival, just a team who sad gets who don't understand the meaning of supporting a club support. I pity such people and their sporting preferences mean absolutely nothing to me.

    Ah but, but, etc.

Up until the Hume incident, I would have always backed the Yorkshire team over anyone else. It's all a bit too fresh at the moment.

RE: We're supposed to give a toss about Barnsley fans who "have close ties with Man Utd"?

I was laughing when I got to nails, I nearly choked at the end of that sentence.

Can any one honestly say that watching a team where you know that they are going to win the majority of games, not have any "ups" or downs in respect of performance or risk of relegation, or even change of management that it must be boring !!, why oh why follow a team just because "they win everything on a regular basis". to me its black and white , you support your home team because you have pride , you Dont jump on a bandwagon and think you are better than other football fans.
My father came from Leeds, i was taken to watch them in the seventies, but having been born in Barnsley thats where my team is and i could not considerr even visiting another clubs ground unless it was for a international.

So do I so that thousands more Barnsley Kids

wear Manchester United shirts round town and just take out sky subcriptions rather than going down to Oakwell

I hate all that traffic after the match.

I wish more of you would support Manchester United instead so I could spread out over 5 seats and get a pie at half time without queuing.

God, all those fans at Barnsley should just get lost and support Manchester United instead so I can have BFC all to myself.

Manchester United are not killing the game. They're not trying hard enough to stop other fans getting in my way at Barnsley.

I'd be much happier if everyone other than me in Barnsley supported Manchester United.

Therefore come on Manchester United - beat Barcelona and take more fans and potential fans away from Barnsley

IF Barnsley became that successful, I don't think I'd begrudge it and I certainly wouldn't stop supporting them. I may have misunderstood what you were saying in your previous post, but I thought you were suggesting that anyone who decided to back Man United against Barcelona, that wasn't from Manchester, isn't a proper football fan. I didn't understand the reasoning. I don't support Manchester United, but I'd prefer them to beat Barcelona, even if it's just to piss off Sepp Blatter.

Either way, I'm sure neither of us will lose sleep over it!

    What the hel...

So, just supporting your countries team isn't a viable option then? Supporting the Spaniards, is way, way better? Oh great, let's just support Afghanistan, and hope to God that they kill all our men.

    Yeah, let's.

    Fruit-cake.

    My Countries team.

    Are England playing tonight?

I'll be supporting the team that if they win, that victory will have the least damaging effect on my club.

    so come on Barca.

Paella and San Miguel for me please.
