I was one of those who felt some relief when we were finally relegated, I didn't want us to be relegated but when we were it felt like we'd been put out of our misery. I was optimistic that with our fan base and budget our stay in the third division would be relatively short but more than this I was confident we'd be a team to be reckoned with in this league - how wrong was I. We're going backwards and unless something changes we'll be in danger of being relegated again. I don't just blame Johnson for this but he has to take a share of the blame. I understand his hands are tied with regards to budget and transfers but he cannot hide from the blame where performances and to an extent results are concerned.

I have to ask you ct who was the last manager that you thought did a good job as bfc manager? Do you think that the 'berk' as you call him although having the pr skills of a wet kipper, was also a fairly decent manager until his team was decimated by player sales and injuries? As we have had this conversation in the real world I know you would rather rip out your tongue than admit the later ! Cheers. Dave

    Mark Robins.

The Berk is a good manager at this level but he got found out at the level above. He was also impossible to like.

Flicker had four great months but was soon found wanting.

    Fair enough.

Genuine question though. In your opinion how do you think hill's season would have panned out if it hadn't bee for the sales and injuries. I know this isn't scientific but gut feeling ?

Similar to how it did. Survival. Let's not forget, the season he lost Vaz Te and Butterfield wasn't the season he got the boot.

Drinkwater was never our player so the team should not have been built around him.

No I appreciate that it wasn't the season he got the boot. I thought we were destined for a top half maybe a top six finish at that time. As for drinkwater, I think he'd just signed a longer loan agreement with us when Leicester came in with a permanent deal. Plenty of clubs build teams around loan players. All about opinions though mate

Very risky to build a team around a player who can be recalled with 24 hours notice though.

It all turned for the Berk during the second half against Ipswich. Never the same after that although I disliked the bloke long before then.

I'm not sure but I think that the terms of drinkwater loan was that he was our player for the full term unless there was a permanent deal on the table ? I also didn't like hill but I think he caught a rough deal in that January period

Well he's history now Dave. He would be better than the current incumbent but I'm struggling to think who would be worse.

Happy that we won but it changes nothing.

Re the attendance, it was 900 less than went to see us play York in the first round last season and must be our lowest gate for a competitive game in 25 years or more.

I'm hoping the board read something into that.
