I agree with all you say mate, but not sure if we(BFC) have any say or sway in a decision tbh......a would have thought the FA and Horsham should be pushing this as much as us, like I have said earlier the F A Cup is not what it used to be, this wouldn’t happened when the Cup was revered like it was in yesteryear
We haven't changed either though. Our game hasn't been moved from Saturday, it was always scheduled for "the weekend of the 3rd". Presumably they're not going to move Premier League Sheff Utd, or Championship Rotherham to make way for an FA Cup tie.
Wolves, QPR and Accrington fans will all likely have travel arranged already for the Saturday. Our game has only just been drawn and it was never officially in the calendar to be played Saturday. I would've preferred the Sunday to the Friday night, but I don't really see what all the fuss is about here.
BFCST Also raising this with SYP and BFC https://x.com/bfcst/status/1716165520783777959?s=46&t=maVwlBVh-IrDYvsuBVjM4Q
It was originally stated on club website Saturday 4th November kick off 3 pm and it still read thet at approximately 5pm today Sunday 22nd October
I don't think this is an accurate claim - all matches not selected for live television (5 on UK, 2 on international, 1 on S4C) kick-off at 3pm on Saturday and were always scheduled to. If this SYP farce proceeds then we will be the only non-live game to not be on Saturday at 3pm. Wolves and QPR granted - these were league games announced in the Summer - but the Donny v Accrington tie was established only at the same time as Reds v Horsham.
The FA, TheEFL, PGMOL, and now even South Yorkshire police all pick on Barnsley because we never offer any resistance from club level
absolutely bang on and if our club are the community club we claim to be we should be making representations too, instead of laying down and having our belly ticked.
There's probably an aspect of that, but I think the bigger issue is the reputation of our fans means we don't get the benefit of the doubt that there won't be crowd trouble.
Too much common sense would have to be involved for the professional club that doesn't have far to travel to play Friday night. No we will expect our opponents in their biggest game to get their players to book time off work and fans to take their kids out of school if they are to make it on time.
