Hourihane just 'liked' this on Twitter

I was on the ( mis)understanding that all the contracts had to be revisited after a promotion to up their wages.

 

He seems to be less than 100% about his future being at Oakwell, which raises one or two issues.

Firstly, I think I read that he was kind of enticed over from Cork by Roy Keane. At any rate he was at Sunderland and Ipswich (both of whom Keane managed) but didn't make an appearance for either. He then serves his time (admirably, by all accounts) at Plymouth and we move in for him. It is with us that he establishes himself as a very good League One player and possibly a Championship one - we shall see. So he's a bit like Hammill but without the baggage. Would he cut it away from our coaching and nurturing setup? Who knows. Hope he talks to Adam.

On the other hand, PC and Ben have referred many times to our strategy of 'building value' in players - which we've certainly done with Hourihane. So you could forgive him for thinking that that cuts two ways. It does occur to me that Bristol would be a lot closer to the family home of his Mrs. Hope I'm wrong on that though.

Whatever happens, you'd have to say that the club has given us cause now to think that anyone brought in should he depart would be tidy themselves. It's all heady times, innit?

Why is Adam Davies stood next to him?

 

Yes and nope; I don't start my new job until September. I'm volunteering for an online charity that makes books accessible for blind and print disabled people which I spent at least 8 hours a day doing but spread out whenever I feel like it. It mainly involes editing and typing up huge chunks of text so it was just doing it on here instead of on there.

 

Think he needs to have a discussion when he comes back and if he doesn't want to be here then he needs to move on. Really odd though it's at complete odds to what he said in the chronicle at the end of last season when he said he was happy and expected to sign on for the foreseeable. Reckon someone's mentioned money to him.

 

sounds to me hes fishing for more money and wants the oakwell hierachy to know about it. Hes seen his mate getting a reported 8k a week, so rightly as captain wants similar come contract negotiations. And if he doesent hes off. Standard footballer stuff
