Proven winner too who has several promotions on his CV. That alone is why he needs to be around the dressing room.
0-0 against Huddersfield in the last minute. We get a free kick 25 yards out just to the left of the D. I know who I'd be more than happy for us to bring on and take it.
Show mi bare arse on tarn hall steps if Hourihane and Stendel come back together. Not a chance that's happening. Edit: will buy a season ticket if it does. YOUUU REDDSSS
aye, that 7-1 drubbing of Huddersfield with Craig Hignett making his debut, Barnard’s wonder strike etc, etc,
Since I started watching tarn 1965/66. 7 managers have got us promoted. Only 1 having managed in england prior to us. Ritchie For 5, it was their first job in management. . Steele Clarke Hunter Wilson Hecky. The other only managed abroad afore us. Stendl It is also the case I believe, neither of the 2 who managed/coached before, worked alongside someone they had done so at the other clubs. Managers off the top of my head having success (promotion) b4. But not wit tarn Machin Bassett Duff. Lots of managers after successful stints at some clubs. Bomb elsewhere. It's a lottery tbh in the vast majority of cases.
Which is why he's not being dropped in at the deep end on his own. Conor comes across as a very bright bloke and a real student of the game. There's no reason to think he wouldn't be a very positive addition to the set-up. Remember (assuming this is true) he'd have a wealth of experience at the club to learn from in the form of Stendel, Disco and Bobby Hassell. I really don't see a problem.
Completely different that. Hendrie had been a big character and joker in the dressing room. When he tried to be the disciplinarian no one took him seriously. His managerial career was doomed from the start. Hourihane coming in would command instant respect. He’s had a successful career at the top and just been part of a squad that has been promoted out of the same league. Plus he’s a quality player still. What’s not to like (if it happens at all)?
