Cavare has been playing very well. Rush of blood doesn't make him a bad player or a complete liability. Lots of good players have been sent off at various clubs.
Why? Cavare was an idiot but looks a talented player. The incidents more an issue of signing young inexperienced players than the CEO bringing in 2 French players. Thiam was clearly injured just after coming on. I don’t know why people are pretending it didn’t happen. I can’t imagine people would pretend there was no collision & injury if it was Bradshaw, Moore etc
Lets leave it there, I don't think he was injured at all and you do. Being in a challenge doesn't have anything to do with him looking out of shape though, which he's done since he arrived, and we are now 6 months down the line. He's not been injured in the previous 20 games he's been involved in and scored 1 goal, a penalty. Like us all, I want our players to do well. I want him to do well, and I don't make a habit of pulling out players for criticism on here, very rarely in fact. But he's a massive let down. His energy levels are abysmal. His movement off the ball is non league standard.
Thiam started the Reading game. His body language was poor and he looked knackered after 10 minutes. He got better as the game went on though and was a real handful by the time he was subbed. He didn't put the effort in that the situation warranted yesterday, but I think appearances can be deceptive regarding his fitness.
I agree about the rest of his appearances, I think he’s been a lot better in the last month or so but his fitness levels were shocking for the first few months.
