    Good post Big Lil...

I agree with it. It might seem like I'm too complimentary of Davey - but I am totally aware that he has made mistakes and he is inexperienced. He's nowhere near the perfect manager. But when the abuse that he gets is such a pile of nonsense, I end up fighting his corner more strongly than is necessary.

He's a decent manager with a lot of potential. Not some loony who isolates every player he comes across, and not a certified genius.

I think people still feel as though they were essentially shafted when he was appointed. Allowed to make signing's and bring in an assistant when only a caretaker, fan's told that interviews were to take place with various applicants only for it to be announced the day after we were hammered at home against the pigs that davey had got the job full time, despite making the biggest balls up in the history of football management the previous day.

I think that that turned a lot of people against davey right from day one. Maybe that is wrong of people but it is a natural human reaction.

I thought I was being complimentary

To both you and your daughter!

Well, I do have to be on my best behaviour when I go over there.

Personally I don't see the problem

    With Davey.

He's done a sound and effective job thus far and long may he continue to build us as a club. Since he's been in charge he's had 3 major things to acheive/fulfill.

: Keep us up last season - Achieved
: Sign new players in the summer - Fulfilled
: Improve on last season - Achieved

I know some people will say, have we improved? Well, in simple terms, yes! We have more points, slightly higher in the league and maybe more importantly rarely get badly beaten anymore. Having been to the majority of away games last season, and all this year, I can honestly say that comparing the two is very different. Last season 80% of the time we were out of the game after 20 minutes. Although we haven't won too many this year, we have actually played some good stuff at times and been desperately unlucky, I.E Bristol City.

I think everyone will agree when I say our major downfall has been a goalscorer, and at times in certain games, had we had a goalscorer we'd have won instead of lost and would maybe be sitting in the top half. So he took a gamble on a couple of strikers that didn't come off. Oh, he wasted X amount. So what, it's a gamble, do you never go to the bookies? Here's a striker thats scored god knows how many in Peru, £500k. And then here's and average league 1 striker, £500k. Im afraid we can't afford more than that, and so if we were to stay English and not gamble on foreigners we'd be buying poor standards of players. So players like Mostto have to be gambled on. No-one knows if they're gunna come off or not.
