    RE: agree wtih jay

I don't understand why there's no incentive to renew season tickets early

I don't understand why there aren't more incentives for parents to bring their children.

I don't understand why we seem to ignore the growing student population of Barnsley.

I don't understand the half season ticket prices.

I don't understand why you don't get a discount if you buy a matchday ticket in advance.

I think saying 'rubbish at everything else' is a bit harsh.
The pricing isnt good, but who knows what work they are doing behind the scenes.
I think the problem is all to do with the public facing/pr side of the club. We are not giving out a good image, so any good they do behind the scenes is hidden or ignored.

The cheapest adult tickets for Oakwell are £17

That's more expensive than all the other 23 clubs in our division so where do you get your info from? Unless by like for like you mean the most expensive tickets which are roughly on a par at all clubs. (That may be 22 - not checked on Forest)

A number of clubs, like Barnlsey, offer a limited number of executive packages, executive, premium or platinum seating.
These prices have not been recorded.

Gillingham's pricing policy is difficult to understand. For their category A games a number of blocks in the ground offer seating at prices above £25. However, the majority of their games appear to be category B and C games where their cheapest tickets are cheaper than what is available at Barnsley. Their most expensive tickets remain extremely pricey compared to what is on offer at other clubs, but maybe these areas are what other clubs would refer to as executive sections.

Of the other clubs, if fans take advantage of the discounts available for tickets bought in advance and membership schemes, only Bournemouth's highest price tickets are as expensive as the most expensive seats for category A games at Barnsley. Bournemouth, Oldham, Nottm Forest and Swindon are the 4 clubs that are more expensive than Barnsley's highest priced tickets for equivalent category B games.

The cheapest ticket available at Barnsley for a category A games is £20. Only Nottingham Forest are as expensive. For a category B game the cheapest ticket at Barnsley is £17. Nottingham Forest are more expensive, Port Vale charge the same, but the rest of the clubs in our division offer cheaper admission.

**Any mistakes in this are genuine mistakes. Should anyone see any erroneous information please inform me and I will change it as soon as possible. My intention was to make a comparison as I am struggling to find the necessary funds to attend games after the price rises in the summer and I wondered how our prices compared to other clubs in this league. I am not making a personal attack on anyone.

    # Forest have promised 4-6 kid for a kid games this season. Junior prices are for under 18s.

Gillingham's pricing policy is difficult to understand and some junior tickets appear to be very expensive.

Of the rest of the clubs in this league only Chesterfield and Bournemouth offer more expensive tickets than Barnsley for category A matches. For category B matches both these clubs again offer more expensive tickets along with Blackpool, MK Dons and Tranmere's Young Person category.

The lowest admission charge at Barnsley for a junior at category A games is £12. That is more than any other club charge for their lowest priced juvenile ticket apart from the previously mentioned Gillingham. The £10 we charge for category B games is also the most expensive lowest priced junior ticket.

However, it is in the family stand where we see the most discrepancy between what we charge at Barnsley compared to the rest of the league. The £31 charged for an adult and child ticket in the family area at Barnsley is by far and away the most expensive in this league for clubs that offer an equivalent family area. £7 more expensive than the nearest rival.

Have you sent these figures to the club?

    If not you ought to.

Another example is FA Cup prices which lets face it isn't the draw it used to be anymore unless yoy play a Premier side. 8 of us went to the Darlo game at £12 = £72 in clubs coffers. With 3 home games on bounce and £17 for Bradford game, none of us went. At £12 we would have gone.

    Maybe so

But it was the current chairman/board who renegotiated it wasn't it? What I'm saying is that they had control of which catering company got the contract at Oakwell.

    If you look

You've got the highest and lowest prices for each ground. So yes, it does depend where you sit and I've reflected that. Our highest priced tickets tend to be more expensive than most clubs, as do our lowest priced tickets.

    how does it?

the cheapest ticket is the cheapest ticket. for fans that cant afford top prices then all they care about is how much they can get into oakwell for. they dont care how much it is in the east upper because they cant afford that stand.
