If you get a CLEAR plastic bottle and cut off one side so that you can put water in it and place it on the garden you will have cracked it.
We had the same problem and a firend told us to do this (which we did (sceptically!)) and now we have no cats, but the birds love preening themselves in the water in the bottles.

RE: They also kill birds - which I think is where we came in! (nt) I suppose they're just acting out of character.
mmmmmmm you always seem to remember them , go on show us the pic you have hidden away , windy asked for a new one said his was all 'stuck' together (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr)
RE: thought just a full bottle did the trick cos they are scared of the reflections that's the thoery but if you cut a hollow out of one side, it does the same trick and the birds get a bath to-boot!
